At the Crane Mansion, the original Fox returns as Theresa tells him not to push Whitney into getting over Chad before she's ready. Theresa accuses Fox of scheming to get Whitney and asks him to tell her what he is up to. He refuses to tell her and turns the tables, asking her why she slept with someone after the embryo procedure. She tells him that she never said she slept with someone else and attempts to change the subject back to Fox's plans. Fox tells her that she needs a nap and leaves.

Upstairs in Alistair's office, he pulls out a picture of Katherine and reveals one of his secrets: "Katherine, I should have killed you the first time you denied me your bed, but I didn't. I kept hoping that you'd come to love me like your sister Rachael loved me, but you didn't. You never even came close! If only Rachael hadn't died in that boating accident, I would have married her and not you, her second rate sister. Damn you for not dying instead of Rachael!" Martin, who has been roaming around the Mansion with a gun in hand searching for Alistair, follows the scent of the cigar smoke into Alistair's office but he'd disappeared. Frustrated, Martin goes downstairs.

Outside of the church, Whitney begs Chad to stay away from her. Chad leaves and Whitney kneels down in front of a statue of Mother Mary to pray for direction. As Whitney breaks down, the statue sheds a tear as well.

At Sheridan's cottage, an emotional Pilar tells Paloma that having her home is a dream come true. Meanwhile, Paloma remembers Alistair telling her that her family does not want her. Paloma tells her mother, Luis and Sheridan that she is tired after the flight and goes to her room to lie down. As Pilar goes to the kitchen to make dinner, Sheridan tells Luis that she's never seen Pilar this happy. Luis tells her that the only thing that could make her happier would be if his father came home, too. Sheridan replies, "Well, this is Harmony, where everything seems to be possible." Luis tells Paloma that he and Sheridan are going to go out on a romantic getaway and that will give her time with Pilar. Talking to herself, Paloma says, "That man I met at the Mansion was right. Luis just brought me here to take care of my mother so he can come and go whenever he wants...with our dead brother's widow!"

Whitney goes to visit Theresa, who tries to comfort her best friend. She tells Whitney, "Your life is not over! You've just hit a minor pothole on the highway to happiness." She goes on to tell her that people in Harmony have short memories and soon she and Chad will be yesterday's news. She tells her, "It's not like you got pregnant and have Chad's baby to look at as the constant reminder of the cardinal sin that you committed with your brother!" Theresa tries to convince Whitney to give Fox a chance. She tells Whitney that Fox would make a really good husband. Whitney agrees with Theresa. It looks like Theresa is not the only one plotting. Aloud, Whitney says, "Yeah, Fox would make a really good husband." Thinking, she continues, "and a father."

At the Harmony Recording Studio, Fox checks in on Chad. He tells him that he's sorry for the way things turned out and says, "Welcome to the family! Now you can ruin other people's lives just by being a Crane." Chad asks Fox to look after Whitney and make sure she's okay. Fox tells him that Whitney is not too fond of the Crane's right now and since he's a Crane, she probably won't talk to him.

Back at the Crane Mansion, Julian sees Katherine from behind and asks if she is his mother. As Katherine turns around, he apologizes, "Your face, as lovely as it is, it looks nothing like my mother." Katherine tells him that there is nothing to forgive and Julian is astonished because she sounds exactly like his memory of his mother's voice. Katherine introduces herself to Julian and Eve as "Mrs. Wheeler." Julian offers to show her around the Mansion. They all get on the discussion of Pilar's blood disorder. Eve tells Katherine that she is in remission, but seeing Paloma should do her a world of good. Katherine tells Eve, "Yes, being close to a child again that you've been separated from for so many years is like an answer to a mother's dream." Eve seems to be hurt by the comment, since her own lost child wants nothing to do with her, so Julian tries changing the subject and asks Katherine if she has any children. She tells him that she has a son and a daughter that she has been estranged from for many years. Julian explains to Katherine that Eve is the love of his life, despite the fact that he is married to Rebecca. He tells her that they have a child together that they have been separated from. They explain to Katherine that after Chad was born, Alistair had him kidnapped and were told that he had died. Katherine is outraged! Tired of the depressing conversation, Julian offers Katherine a drink. Katherine accepts and goes to where the bar used to be when she lived there. Julian explains that the bar used to be where Katherine was going, but it is now on the other side of the room. Julian says, "Not only do you remind me of my mother, but you seem to think like her as well. I wonder why that is." Katherine explains that they probably just miss their loved ones, so they're seeing things that aren't there in perfect strangers. Martin comes downstairs and tells Katherine that he is going to check on Paloma. Katherine tells him that she wants to stay and visit with Julian and Eve a little longer, but walks him outside. In the foyer, Martin and Katherine hug as he tells her that he knows she wants to see her son, but to be careful. As they come out of their embrace, Katherine takes Martin's gun and hides it behind her back! She tells Julian and Eve that she is going to restroom to freshen up. Talking to herself, Katherine says, "Martin has sacrificed so much for me because of Alistair. I can't let him sacrifice himself as well. I'll take care of Alistair myself. Who knows? I might even enjoy it." Martin arrives at the cottage. While talking to him, Pilar grows weak and faints! Katherine, now hunting for Alistair, hears his voice outside of his office. She hides the gun and goes into the office. Alistair, facing the window away from his wife says, "Katherine, my dear, it's about time you came back to me, your loving husband. It's so good to finally see you after all these years." As he says the last sentence, the camera rises and Alistair's face is finally revealed!!!

At the Crane mansion Theresa and Whitney are talking. Theresa tells Whitney that Fox would make a good father and Whitney agrees with her. Theresa goes on to say that Fox isn't the only guy out there, there were others, but Fox was in love with her and would treat her well. They go on talking a bit longer and Whitney thanks her for caring. Theresa says they've been friends forever and of course she cares. Theresa leaves to go read Little Ethan a story. Whitney leaves and thinks to herself that if she gets together with Fox right away, nobody will have to know that her baby is Chad's, but doesn't know if she can do that to Fox. She goes on thinking that that's something that Theresa would do, but says she'll do whatever she has to for her baby and leaves to go find Fox.

Over at the recording studio, Chad is thanking Fox for looking after Whitney for him. He says he used to trust him as a friend, but now that they're half-brothers as well he trusts him even more. He goes on to say that he knows that Fox will keep the "wolves" away from Whitney while she's vulnerable to them. Fox leaves thinking to himself that all's fair in love and war. Later on, after getting a message from Chad, Theresa goes to the studio. He tells her she didn't have to come by; he just wanted to know how Whitney was doing. She tells him that she's dealing with things but it's hard. Chad tells her that he has Fox looking after Whitney. Theresa is surprised to hear this and Chad wonders if there's any reason why he shouldn't trust him. Theresa says no and Chad tells her that he trusts Fox as a friend and as a brother. He goes on to say he knows he'll never be with Whitney again. Theresa tells him that both he and Whitney have to move on. Chad says he doesn't know if he can go on because he can't imagine seeing Whitney with another man. Theresa said she had to do it when she realized she'd never be with Ethan and he had to do it as well. Chad says it's killing him and he knows it'll happen eventually but he doesn't know what he'll do when she does find someone else.

Back at the Crane mansion Fox runs into Whitney and asks her what she's doing there. She tells him that she was looking for him. He says that he's surprised after she yelled at him and she apologizes. He thanks her and asks her what she wants to talk about and she tells him "the future." They sit down and Whitney says she wants to say some things and just wants him to listen. She goes on to tell him that she reacted badly when she found out he was in love with her and didn't mean it when she said he used her like all of the other Cranes. She says she only got that upset because of what her mother had done. Fox says that he reacted badly as well and he's sorry. She goes on to say that she's the one who was sorry, they had a good friendship and she should have been more understanding. She apologizes again and Fox interrupts her to take a phone call. While he's talking she tells herself she feels like a sleaze for using Fox but she doesn't have any other choice. Fox ends his call and tells Whitney that he's impressed by her positive attitude. She says there's no use in living in the past and she knows what she has to do now and kisses Fox!

At the cottage, Martin puts Pilar on the couch after she faints. Paloma wants to know why she fainted. Martin says he doesn't know, that her pulse and breathing are good and maybe the excitement was just too much for her. He sends Paloma for a cold towel for Pilar's head and starts having flashbacks of when they were married. Paloma comes back with the towel and Pilar calls out Martin's name. Paloma hears her and thinks she must be dreaming about her father but wonders why. Pilar drifts back into her flashback. In her mind she is trying to convince Martin to leave his job with the Cranes and moving away. Martin doesn't know why she'd suggest that and she says that their lives are too tangled up with the Cranes and she has a feeling something bad is going to happen. Meanwhile, Paloma flashes on the conversation she had with Alistair and what he said about her family using her and tricking her into coming back home. She begins to wonder if what he was saying was true. Pilar continues with the flashback, begging Martin to leave, that something horrible would happen if they didn't leave. Martin recalls what Pilar is flashing back on and wishes he had listened more carefully to her at the time. Paloma wonders why Pilar hasn't woken up yet and Martin tells her that her mother has always been a strong woman. Paloma wonders how he knows that. Martin catches himself and says that Tia Maria talked about her for years and he feels like he's known Pilar just as long. Pilar finally comes to and opens her eyes to see Martin as he used to be and says, "It is you!" Paloma wonders why her mother seems to know him and Martin says she's sick, but Pilar grabs hold of him and hugs him.

In Alistair's study, Alistair is telling Katherine how it's good to see her again after all these years. Katherine tells him that she won't let him hurt them, their children or the Lopez-Fitzgerald's anymore. Martin wonders if she means Martin, the one who made her into a whore. Alistair goes on a rant about what a terrible mother Katherine was for deserting her children, and how spineless she is. He goes on to say she's pathetic, she doesn't have the guts to stop him and that she's weak. He tells her she gave up everything; she was living in a fairy tale. Katherine tells him it was no fairy tale, it was a nightmare, but it was going to end now. Alistair says it sounds like she means to try to stop him and she says she is, and that his reign of terror is going to end, tonight! He asks her what she plans to do, says she's a coward and has always been a coward. He goes on to ask her if that's why she had so much surgery done to her face, so she didn't have to look in a mirror and face herself after what she'd done. She tells him that she didn't choose to leave their children, she had to leave because if she didn't he would have killed her and Martin. He tells her she could have taken the brats with her, but she says he would have hunted them down to bring them back. Alistair says that Julian is as spineless as she is and Sheridan was worthless as a daughter, who was a waste in the whole scheme of things. Katherine tells him that he's a sick man. He responds by saying he's the most powerful man on the planet, that the president calls him to ask for favors, he could do what he wanted, when he wanted, to whomever he wanted. He goes on to say that right now, he wanted to punish her, Martin, Sheridan and the Lopez-Fitzgeralds. Katherine tells him that she'll do whatever he wants from her, as long as she leaves the rest alone. He asks her if she can turn back time and give him back all the years she stole from him. She doesn't understand what he's getting at and he tells her to come back and be his wife again. She tells him she doesn't think she can do that; he tells her that her friends and family won't be spared then. She tells him that this is madness. He says she has the power to stop it. She finally relents to go back to him and be his wife again!

Luis takes Sheridan away to a cabin where he's planned a romantic night for them. Sheridan can't believe it because they'd just gotten home. They make a toast and kiss. Later after dinner Luis gives Sheridan a massage and they make love.

At the recording studio Theresa and Chad are talking. Theresa tells him that he can't be with Whitney ever again and he has to move on, even though she knows how hard that will be. He says he just can't imagine Whitney with another man, and seeing her with someone else would drive him crazy, he'd kill the other man. Theresa says he's talking crazy and he has to stop talking that way. She suggests they go to the new café' so he can meet some new people. Chad isn't sure; he says he's worried about Whitney moving on to someone else. Theresa says that Whitney is as hurt as he is and won't move on for a long time. They head to the café' and Theresa wonders if it was a good idea, she wanted Chad to calm down but the caffeine will probably do the opposite. Chad says that he and Whitney haven't had a normal breakup, where they fall out of love or when someone dies; they're both still here and in love, but she's his half-sister. Theresa tells him he can still love Whitney as a sister but he has to move on. Chad responds by saying he doesn't know how he could deal with Whitney moving on and having a baby with another man. Theresa tells him he doesn't have a choice.

Outside the Crane mansion, Fox is surprised by Whitney's kiss. He wants to know what's going on because one minute she hated him and the next she was kissing him. She says nothing is going on and kisses him again. She apologizes for it getting out of hand and Fox says it's alright, they're friends and she needs him right now. Fox is interrupted by a phone call and goes to take it. While he takes the call, Whitney feels guilty for what she's doing but says it's the only thing she can do to hide the truth about the baby. Fox comes back from the phone call and tells her that he's glad they're still friends; that he'd never stop caring about her. They talk for a while about who was wrong when Whitney found out that she was the one Fox was in love with. She tells him it must have been hard for him to stay friends with Chad while they were together. Fox asks her about the future and wonders if they stand a chance. She tells him she doesn't know what's in the future and suggests they go out to dinner to talk about it. He goes to make a call to the Seascape to make reservations. Whitney thinks to herself that tonight she'll take a page from Theresa's book and make love to Fox, then everyone will think her baby is his.

Inside the mansion Eve and Julian talk about what Alistair told them about the group of people landing in Harmony that could be a threat to them. Eve says that it's not Paloma, and Julian says it can't be the Wheelers. Eve agrees and says the Wheelers are nice and Julian says he feels a connection to Mrs. Wheeler like he's known her his whole life.

In Alistair's study, Alistair feels like he's won now that Katherine has come crawling back to him. She tells him she's only doing it to save the others. He says that's just talk, and she wanted to leave that third-world place. She tells him she loved it there. Alistair grabs her by the throat and tells her to say that she wanted to be back with him, that she doesn't want to be with Martin. She asks what difference it makes and he continues to choke her and tell her to say it. She begs him to stop and he said the reason why he told everyone she died instead of telling them she left him was because he wanted her dead. Katherine says she'll do whatever he wants as long as he spares the others. Alistair tells her she's forgotten that he's Alistair Crane, he does what he wants and nobody can stop him. She says she'll stop him. Alistair asks how she's going to stop an important man like him and tells her to admit that she fantasized about him while she was in bed with Martin; that Martin could never be the man he is. She says it's all true; he's a better lover, man and provider. He tells her that she's his and she'll never get away, and tells her to get her face fixed. Katherine asks what if the surgeon can't fix it. Alistair picks up a letter opener and says then he'll do it himself without anesthesia! He stops and says he knows a plastic surgeon that owes him a favor and forces her to kiss him. He forces her down onto the desk and makes her tell him that she wants him.

At the cottage, Paloma asks why Pilar is calling (Martin) Martin. She said she's scaring her and seeing her like this makes everything else important. Martin wonders what she means by that and Paloma remembers what the henchmen told her about her family using her. Pilar awakens when she hears Paloma calling Martin Mr. Wheeler and his face changes back to its present state and passes out again. Martin checks for a pulse but can't find one. He calls Julian asking if Eve is still there. Julian says she is and Martin tells him about Pilar. Julian says they'll be right over. Paloma wonders how Martin knew to call Julian and knew the phone number. Paloma asks Martin what is going on, and asks him who he is. He says he doesn't know what she's talking about, Pilar is sick and that's why she called him by her father's name. He goes on to say that he met Eve at the house and there is a phone directory by the phone with everyone's numbers. Paloma apologizes to him but she is worried about Pilar. Julian and Eve show up and Eve looks at Pilar and then looks at Paloma. Paloma asks if she's dead, but Eve tells her she's fine, she just needs to rest. Pilar wakes up and asks where Martin is. Eve explains to (Martin) who Martin was and says that Pilar lit a candle every night for his return, and Antonio's return while he was away. Pilar wonders why her mother didn't light a candle for her, and that maybe the man was right about her family not wanting her back. Martin says that when he couldn't get a pulse on Pilar he thought he had lost her. Everyone finds his statement strange and asks him if they have any history together. He tells them that he's known Paloma since she was a little girl so he feels like he knows Pilar. Martin inquires about Katherine and Julian tells him he's not sure where she is, she'd excused herself and hadn't come back. Martin says he has to find her.
