ALMA Nominees Announced

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has announced the nominations for this year's ALMA Awards. The ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards, honors outstanding artistic achievement and the enhancement of the Latino image in entertainment.

Ten Latino performers were nominated in this year's daytime drama fields, with General Hospital and Guiding Light each receiving two nominations.

Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama

Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos, General Hospital)
Matt Cedeņo (Brandon Walker, Days of our Lives)
Mark Consuelos (Mateo Santos, All My Children)
Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio Vega, One Life to Live)
A Martinez (Roy DiLucca, General Hospital)

Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama

Miriam Colon (Maria Santos, Guiding Light)
Eva Tamargo Lemus (Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald)
Eva Longoria (Isabella Brana, The Young and the Restless)
Saundra Santiago (Carmen Santos, Guiding Light)
Sandra Vidal (Sofia Alonso, The Bold and the Beautiful)

Actor/comedian Paul Rodriguez will serve as host for the event, which will tape on May 18th and air on ABC June 1st from 8-10 p.m. (ET/PT). Among the presenters at this year's award are DAYS nominee Matt Cedeņo, Rita Moreno, Hector Elizondo and Esai Morales.
