Tad made a startling discovery when he looked into Cara's past. Jake was stunned to learn that Griffin was Cara's brother, not her ex-lover. Cara claimed that she had changed her name because her family had objected to her working in a dangerous field. Cara explained that she hadn't been ready for marriage, so she had called her brother for help. Cara had allowed Jake to believe that she'd had an affair with Griffin, so that Jake would accept the end of their marriage. Cara prepared to leave town, but learned that there had been a paperwork mix-up. Cara had to remain in Pine Valley until the problem could be resolved. Angie offered Cara a job at the hospital. Kendall was livid when she discovered that Greenlee had planned a Fusion meeting without consulting her. Kendall showed up at the meeting to confront Greenlee. Greenlee admitted that she didn't want Kendall making decisions while Kendall was grieving for Zach. Kendall decided to throw herself into Zach's pet project for the Miranda Center. Greenlee and Ryan learned that Liza had been appointed as David's patient advocate. Randi was supportive when she learned that Madison was pregnant. Madison tried to tell Ryan about the baby, but lost her courage, so she quit her job at Fusion and then considered leaving town. Greenlee suggested that Madison stop torturing herself by continuing to find excuses to see Ryan. Annie's insecurities over JR's relationship with Marissa mounted. Annie was disappointed when JR gave her a pair of earrings instead of an engagement ring.

What happened during the week of
Scandal arose again during the "Taboo" fashion show when Brooke and Thomas were caught half-naked together in the same changing room due to a mix-up - engineered by Whip. Unseen and unheard, Whip got a photo of Brooke and Thomas and posted it on the Internet. Taylor blamed Brooke, and Ridge dismissed Taylor's concerns again. Ridge warned Thomas and Brooke that the scandals had to stop. Bill hosted a mega-party to introduce Liam to the world as his son, the man who would take Spencer Publications to the next level. Bill didn't want Hope to be a part of the festivities because he had called Liam "the world's most eligible bachelor." Liam had a dress designed for Hope, and she attended. Amber set her sights on Liam, and Amber persuaded Marcus to finagle an invitation for her. Oliver panicked when he discovered that Marcus had known that Amber had been living with Oliver. Marcus promised to keep the news to himself. Justin, Donna, and Marcus attended the Spencer event together as a family.

What happened during the week of
Jennifer and Bo discovered a clue in the strange letter that Hope had written to Bo, and they were determined to learn the truth and find a way to help her. Warden Jane tormented Hope and left her in a terrible state of fear and loneliness. Bo gave Ciara a special Christmas gift from Hope. Abe was jealous of Ben and Lexie's friendship. Rafe was upset that Sami put her freedom in jeopardy even if for the sake of trying to steal some time with Johnny and Sydney. Sami, E.J., Rafe, and Lexie were frantic to learn that Johnny might have a serious medical condition affecting his vision. E.J. was furious that Sami and Johnny shared a special "I love you" code with each other. Daniel went ballistic on Philip after he learned that Philip had cheated on Melanie. After much discussion, Philip convinced Daniel not to tell Melanie about his one-night stand for the sake of their marriage and future happiness. Philip and Chloe did damage control to ensure that no one would ever learn of their liaison. Melanie told Stephanie that Nathan still had feelings for her. Daniel warned Stephanie and Caroline never to mention Philip's affair to anyone, especially Melanie. Melanie was concerned about Bo and Carly's relationship. Bo prepared to leave Salem.

What happened during the week of
Sonny and Brenda made love. Jerry Jacks claimed Aleksander's body and then made a daring escape. Jerry staged a crash to evade capture. Carly was stunned to find Jerry in her home, playing with Josslyn. Jerry explained that he intended to kill Brenda because she weakened men. Theo decided to file a malpractice suit against the hospital because they had failed to properly treat his hypochondria. Theo named Steve, Patrick, and Lisa in the lawsuit, but left Robin's name out of it because she had tried to help him. Carly had a talk with Abby about Abby's relationship with Michael. Abby called off her date with Michael, which led Michael to believe that Abby was afraid to be around him because he had violent outbursts. Abby explained that she liked Michael, but she was too old for him. Michael insisted that Abby was the only person who understood him. Abby finally agreed to go out on a real date with Michael. Carly decided to dig into Abby's past. Siobhan met with Jerry on Pier 52. Jerry ordered Siobhan to eliminate Lucky because Lucky had become a nuisance. Siobhan warned Jerry that it would be a mistake to kill Lucky. Lucky learned that Siobhan had lied about Fiona's phone calls. Dante and Brenda were slapped with a lawsuit for the wrongful death of Anton Banovic, the man who had tried to abduct Brenda in the alleyway. Diane and Alexis hired Theo because his forty years as a trial attorney could benefit Brenda and Dante. Theo Hoffman was revealed to be the Balkan.

John wondered why Natalie wanted to keep their engagement a secret. Natalie explained that she just wanted to it to be "ours" for a while. Eddie's slain body was found in his motel room. There were several prime suspects including Eddie's sons and Todd. Starr questioned James about what he had been doing in Eddie's room the night of Eddie's murder. James insisted that the entire night had been a blur; however, he admitted that he had taken the gun from Eddie's duffel bag. James claimed that "it had just happened" and that someone like Eddie shouldn't have been carrying around a loaded gun. Matthew was distraught after finding his father in Inez's arms. Matthew drove recklessly in a fit of rage, forcing Rex's car off of the road shortly after Rex had rescued Nora from Eddie's room. Rex was injured and then rushed to the hospital. Inez lied by telling Bo that they'd had sex. Bo was desperate to find Nora; his concern mounted when Rex revealed that Nora had been in the car at the time of the accident. Bo discovered Nora's wedding ring at the crash site, but Nora was nowhere to be found. Bo's despair turned to jubilation when Nora stepped out of the woods, shaken, but otherwise unharmed. Nora recalled leaving the car to get help, but then she had blacked out. Matthew made it back to Llanview unscathed. Nate was stunned when Matthew revealed that Inez and Bo were having an affair. Blair questioned why Todd's cufflink had been found in Eddie's motel room. Todd was certain that someone had set him up.

Adam and Sharon asked Phyllis to use the photo evidence to clear his name. Jack warned Phyllis not to trust Adam. Sharon told Adam that she missed Faith. Chloe was disgusted to see Heather and Ronan kissing. Nick and Diane had fun with their kids. Victoria and Billy were worried that she may not be able to have another baby. Heather and Ronan became lovers. On the rebound from Chloe, Kevin had sex with Jana. Cane wanted nothing to do with his father, so Colin threatened to expose Cane's past. Jana was determined to get custody of Daisy's baby so Kevin would return to her. Colin seduced Jill. Chloe moved out of Kevin's after finding him naked with Jana. Nikki asked Deacon to give her space. Unaware that Victor was jetting home, Nick and Diane made love at the ranch. Ronan learned that he'd die without a liver transplant. Phyllis and Jack found evidence to prove that Adam killed Skye. Adam and Sharon declared their love for each other. Gloria warned Jana to leave Kevin alone. Abby was skeptical about Tucker's love for Ashley.
