Days of our Lives Recap, October 20-24, 2025: Sophia unravels, Sarah ends her marriage, and Stephanie outs herself

EJ and Sarah butted heads over his oversight of the hospital. EJ asked Sarah to speak at the opening of the Tom Horton Free Clinic, and she accepted. Leo asked EJ for a tour of the clinic, but EJ refused. Leo snooped around. When Rita told EJ, he agreed that they needed to deal with Leo.

What happened on Days of our Lives

Steve and Brady found Sophia in a room above the pub. Outside the pub, Amy yelled at Johnny for having spread rumors about her daughter. Johnny noticed Sophia in the window of the room above the pub, and he and Amy ran upstairs together.

Tate and Holly ran into Leo, Javi, and Tesoro in the square, and they told them about Tesoro’s true parentage. When Leo and Javi ran into Chanel, she admitted that she and Johnny were fighting to adopt Tesoro. Chanel explained that the adoption hinged on whether Sophia told social services the truth about everything.

After a text from Johnny, Chanel, Tate, and Holly joined Amy, Johnny, Steve, Brady, and Sophia above the pub. Amy defended her daughter. Sophia told Amy that her impossible standards were why she had given birth in secret. When Leo and Javi walked into the pub with Tesoro, Sophia suffered an emotional breakdown and passed out. After an exam, Marlena sent a catatonic Sophia to Bayview. Amy objected, but Sarah promised that it was the best option for Sophia’s recovery.

Holly confided to Tate that she felt partially responsible for Sophia’s downfall because she had betrayed their friendship. Tate said he felt partially to blame as well for having led Sophia on. Brady comforted Amy at the hospital as she blamed herself for having missed the changes in her daughter. Sophia’s catatonic state meant that she could not clear Johnny’s name. EJ offered to help, but Chanel refused.

EJ urged Belle to throw the book at Sophia. Belle stressed that she would act based on the evidence, not based on EJ’s bullying. When Marlena returned home, she said she knew that Belle had spoken to Sarah about her illness. Belle told Marlena that she needed her mother to stick around. Marlena promised she would not leave her daughter anytime soon.

Amy held her grandson, and she vowed to Javi and Leo that she would not let Johnny and Chanel adopt Tesoro. Javi and Leo warned Johnny and Chanel about Amy’s plans. Chanel worried that she and Johnny would not be able to overcome all the obstacles to adopt Tesoro.

Theo offered to help Xander separate Titan and DiMera on Days of our Lives. Xander was suspicious, but Theo explained that he wanted the two families to behave more civilly with one another. When Theo told Xander that Gabi was upset with Theo’s appointment as CEO, Xander asked Gabi why. Gabi lied and said she had been surprised and that she was relieved to have her company back.

Xander admitted to Philip that he had an urge to confess to Sarah, but Philip warned Xander not to do it. Xander guessed that Philip was dating Gabi, and he told Philip that they looked good together. Philip formally asked Gabi out on a date. Sarah asked Xander to move into the guest room.

Maggie talked to Xander about his anger issues, and he said he believed that Marlena had given him the tools to deal effectively with his anger. Maggie told Xander that she still believed he was hiding the truth about Philip’s attack. Sarah confronted Xander, and he admitted he had beaten Philip. Disgusted, Sarah told Xander that she would never forgive him. Sarah asked Justin to start divorce proceedings.

Abe remained furious with Paulina because she had encouraged Theo to take the job at DiMera. Abe told Paulina that it had not been her place to give Theo advice, and he resented that she had given Theo bad advice.

Jeremy advised Thomas to hear Chad out about Cat on Days of our Lives. Thomas asked Jeremy to help him create a dating profile for his dad to find a new woman. Mark returned to Salem, and Cat told him about her failed relationship with Chad. With Mark unable to find work, Cat suggested that Mark should talk to EJ. Mark followed Cat’s advice, and he talked to EJ about a job at the hospital. EJ offered Mark a job on a private research project on the condition that EJ sign an NDA. Chad and Cat had an awkward run-in in the park.

In preparation for the book signing at Julie’s bookstore on Days of our Lives, Stephanie revealed that she was Anastasia Sands to Julie. Leo decided he would not expose Stephanie’s identity, but he encouraged her to reveal her identity anyway. Leo agreed to promote the book in exchange for an exclusive interview. When Alex and Stephanie saw Jeremy later, they lashed out at him for having talked to Leo. Philip told Johnny that Stephanie was Anastasia, and Alex realized that Philip knew because a part of the romance book had been about him.

EJ confided to Chad that he was upset that Tony had chosen Theo to run the company over Johnny. EJ also talked about his heartbroken assistant, and Chad warned EJ not to take advantage of Cat. Chad stressed that his focus was to repair his relationship with Thomas.

At Belle’s birthday party, Marlena advised Brady to follow his heart if he did not want to continue at Basic Black. Belle told Brady and Marlena about EJ’s demands to prosecute Sophia, and they advised Belle that Sophia had suffered enough. Rachel had an odd reaction when she broke a glass.

Ari and Holly got probation for the dorm fire. Ari told Holly about the boy she had met at the dry cleaners, and they deduced that it was Theo. Holly warned Ari not to chase after an older man. Holly kept Tate at arm's length because she wanted to focus on schoolwork.
