Port Charles Goes to the (Brown) Dogs: General Hospital Two Scoops for the Week of December 1, 2025

It took a year, but General Hospital's Emma finally accomplished what she came to Port Charles to do. She rescued a bunch of adorable dogs from Professor Henry Dalton's lab. That was after her boyfriend, Gio, helped rescue the Quartermaine turkey from Outback, the dog Emma and Gio found in the park last summer.

Not only that, but half the town decided to spend their Thanksgiving evening at the Brown Dog bar, proving that it was all about the dogs this week as our favorite Port Charles pals broke bread and drowned their sorrows. Oh, and two people even got married. Now, it's time to dig in as the soap opera holiday season begins.

Chase makes the perfect turkey...but pizza is on the menu

What would a General Hospital Thanksgiving be without the Quartermaine family eating pizza by the end of the episode for one reason or another? We love the calamities, but this year, there were none. Sure, Outback could have eaten the turkey right off the kitchen table, but that would have been too predictable and boring. We kinda yawned when the Qs brought the feast to the hospital to feed the staff, but then we had to admit, it was kinda nice (although boring).

And yes, Tracy was glaringly missing, but we guess Jane Elliot deserved a multi-week vacation after giving the performance of her life this past fall. So, we'll allow it. At least she was the one to make sure the pizzas were delivered. And at least Ned gathered everyone together to give the lord's blessing, because first they sing, and then they eat.

Dante's bad move

Dante was conspicuously missing from the Qs this year because he decided to spend the day with Lulu and Rocco playing flag football and doing foolish dad things, like telling his one son that he could no longer see his other son. That went over like a lead balloon, as it should have. That's because Dante has been ridiculous a lot this year, and he's right back at it for the holidays.

Did we not want to punch Dante? Cause he really needed to be punched. So, Rocco gave him a proverbial gut punch instead when he reminded Dante that he had abandoned him and Lulu TWICE when he was growing up. Rocco was absolutely correct about this. Dante is not father of the year, no matter how much he wants to believe he is. He only stepped up when Lulu entered her coma after screwing up a lot in the few years prior.

So, Rocco said, No thanks and ran right out of the house straight to Grandpa Sonny's. Oddly enough, Sonny was having is own very surprising Thanksgiving.

Brotherly love? What show is this?

Did Ric and Sonny really share a bottle of bourbon in his living room to wash down a Thanksgiving meal and not argue even once? We don't even know if this was General Hospital. Earlier this year, Sonny was completely indifferent when Ric was in a near-fatal car crash (which he still does not know was caused by his own daughter). In fact, it felt like Sonny wanted his own brother to die.

Then, Ric came to him two weeks ago wanting to make amends, and here we are. Seems a little quick, but it just works because Rick Hearst and Maurice Benard are just that good in scenes together. Ric has been back in Port Charles for nearly a year and a half, so it's about time he re-established his relationship with his brother.

Who let the dogs in?

Sonny and Ric did not get to enjoy all the bourbon and brotherly love in peace for long because after Rocco arrived, so did the dogs. And weren't they adorable? Did you not want to adopt one or five for yourselves? We know we did. Outback's apparent twin was even there. All because Emma's dream has finally come true.

She returned home to Port Charles a year ago with the singular quest of rescuing dogs from Professor Henry Dalton's lab, and she finally succeeded. We know the actors had fun on the set with their canine companions because GH told us all about it (and showed us too) on social media. Can we do this every week?

Wedded miss

And then we have Mr. and Mrs. Gruesome Twosome. That always-palatable (not) pair of Drew and Willow finally tied the knot. Mission accomplished? Willow seems to think so since the only reason she married this awful, horrifying, heinous man was cause she is dumb enough to think he is the only way she'll ever get her kids back. Remember, Drew can reach across the ocean and make magical (bad) things happen.

Have we ever seen a more excited lot of assembled guests? They included the bride's mother, boss, and lawyer, as well as the groom's lawyer, as the officiant. And don't forget about the groom's daughter. That was it. Nobody else wanted to attend this horrible affair, and we can't blame them. Yet, Drew had more flowers than a florist and a catered meal, too. But we have to ask — for whom? All the guests skedaddled as soon as the ceremony was over. And they couldn't wait.

Drew's not dead, so...

GH tried to trick us for a whole two days this week and wanted the audience to believe that Selina Wu or one of her professional hitmen shot Drew after Curtis paid her a million dollars. And all we could do was laugh. Because Drew just married Willow, which meant he was still alive.

Did this show of mobsters and mob hitmen really think the audience doesn't know what a professional Port Charles mob hit looks like? We weren't born yesterday, nor did we start watching GH yesterday. If Selina Wu wants a man dead, he would be dead. Do not even pass go.

Jordan may have been relieved when Curtis told her that he couldn't go through with it and never wired the money, but we were not surprised. Whoever shot Drew did a pretty horrible job, which is why our money is still on Willow (or someone else living in Willow's head).

The Brown Dog is the General Hospital place to be

Since dogs were the Thanksgiving theme this week, it just makes sense that half the town made it to the Brown Dog after eating the most filling meal of the year. Michael and Jacinda had such a nice time that they took things back to her apartment for a good old-fashioned soap opera love scene. Rory Gibson needs a love scene a week. That's all.

We assume that Portia and Nina got into a cat fight in the bathroom, but we only saw pregnant Portia grab Nina into a stall and then both women leaving the bar separately. All in a bus-throwing day's work, ladies. Ava tried.

We are not sure where Britt ate her Thanksgiving meal, but she washed it down with a whole lotta booze at the Brown Dog and ruined Molly's evening. And Cody's too. We see that Molly and Cody are going to continue this game of misunderstanding hit or miss. Sigh.

Jason brought drunk Britt home, where drunk Britt ended up on the floor, unable to even give herself her meds. We're kinda waiting for something to happen between them, too. By 2026? Maybe? Same for Molly and Cody? It's not that far away, right?

And finally...think of Laura...

And then there is Laura because save the best and the QUEEN for last, right? And Laura is indeed the QUEEN of General Hospital. Without Laura, there wouldn't even be a General Hospital. And boy, did she have quite a week. It started happily as Laura welcomed Kevin back home, and the audience welcomed Jon Lindstrom back to GH, where he belongs. (Sorry, Joey Armstrong, and Beyond the Gates, we want to keep him.)

It all went downhill from there. First, Jenz Sidwell popped in to make threats and show Laura who is in charge (for now). Then, poor, poor Laura had the nightmare of all nightmares, but we literally squealed with joy when Cyrus appeared, and then, Esme. How delightful!

But not as delightful as Carly's house guest. That's right! Our boyfriend Valentin is back. He's not lookin' so good, but he's back and we can't wait for next week cause it's a Valentin week. Hooray!
