With the exception of a few performers who are no longer with the show (and of course storylines), this year's Passions edition of the Soap Opera Central Awards looks very much as it did last year. In fact, seven of the eight nominees in the Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress categories were also nominated in the same categories last year.

On-screen lovers Galen Gering (Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald) and McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan Crane) were once again honored with a handful of nominations. Gering nabbed four nods including Lead Actor, Most Attractive Male Performer and Favorite Character for Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald) and Outstanding Overall Performer. Westmore equaled Gering's total, earning nods in the ladies' section of the same categories - Lead Actress, Most Attractive Female Performer as well as the Favorite Character and Overall Performer fields.

Voters weren't done honoring the two performers. The storyline and moments section of the ballot was also graced with Luis and Sheridan's presence. The couple's ongoing heartbreak in their relationship earned nominations as the Favorite and Least Favorite Storyline of the year. Presumably those voting in the latter category were voicing their displeasure that the couple hasn't gotten to happily ever after just yet. However, nearly every soap's final ballot this year had at least one storyline nominated in the Favorite and Least Favorite categories. Sheridan's first "death" in which she was buried alive earned a nod as the Most Memorable Moment of the year. Her second "death" of the year, where she was presumed dead in the net of a fishing boat, however, landed in the Worst Moment section of the ballot.

Another big nominee this year was Lindsay Korman (Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald). Korman scored five nominations: Lead Actress, Outstanding Younger Performer, Most Attractive Female Performer, Least Favorite Character for Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald and Overall Performer. All performers receiving nominations in the Lead and Supporting Actor and Actress categories received automatic nominations in the Overall Performer field.

Theresa's surprise wedding the Julian Crane earned dual honors in the Favorite and Least Favorite Storyline areas. The moment that Theresa woke from a drunken stupor and learned that she had married Julian also pulled in double honors, earning nods as Most Memorable and Worst Moment of the year.

Other multiple nominees include Josh Ryan Evans (Timmy) with three and Natalie Zea (Gwen Hotchkiss) with four.
