How to watch Task Episode 5?
The episode will air on live television on HBO at the time mentioned before. However, the episode will be made available on HBO Max at the same time, so you can catch the episode on streaming if you happen to miss it on television. The officially released promo features scenes where Tom and Robbie finally meet and, more importantly, a moment where Perry tries to meet Maeve.
Why does Perry want to chat with Maeve?
Grasso and Tom inform Perry and Jayson in the third episode that the bullet used in the drug house robberies belonged to a Dark Hearts member who used the gun in a 2017 shooting. In this episode, the gang finally captures Cliff because they have Ray's phone, which the task force took in the previous episode. After crashing Cliff's car, the gang retrieves a gun with a holster and one stash of fentanyl.
They torture Cliff to get the identity of the mole inside Dark Hearts. But Cliff does not give up his identity, and therefore, they suffocate him to death. This was a shockingly brutal moment, and actor Raúl Castillo addressed this scene in an Esquire interview:
“It was almost like being at your own funeral. People spoke quietly. They couldn’t even look at me—they were just turning away. It’s a gruesome effect.”
Then, he further continued:
“One of Brad’s geniuses is the way he makes us fall in love with a character and then just rips our heart out. With Cliff, he’d given me this incredible gift to be able to portray the storyline of two men whose whole trajectory is defined by their friendship and their love for one another. We rarely see that—their vulnerability, the way they trust each other. And with all the characters on this show, what we learn about fatherhood and family is really special. So it was an incredible gift. It was a hard one to let go of, for sure.”
Catch the fourth episode on HBO Max as soon as you can before the fifth episode releases on Sunday.
