The Witcher Season 4 is just three weeks away, as the latest season releases on Netflix on October 30, 2025. One of the most talked-about aspects of the upcoming fourth season is Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill, as the latter temporarily returned to the DCEU as Superman in Black Adam, with the expectation of returning in a future DC project.

However, it would eventually play out; Cavill's eventual Superman exit did not mean that he returned as Geralt. Instead, Netflix continued to move forward with Liam Hemsworth for The Witcher Season 4. Now, it looks like a fan account on X (formerly Twitter) has revealed the supposed soundtrack that we may hear over the eight episodes of the series.

Is Henry Cavill appearing this season?

No. Cavill is not returning to this popular fantasy show in any capacity for now. Cavill himself confirmed his exit from the Netflix series through an Instagram post on October 30, 2022. The caption of the post read:

"Some news to share from The Continent… My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find. #TheWitcher @LiamHemsworth"

For three years, fans believed that Cavill exited the series because the people working on the adaptation were deviating from Andrzej Sapkowski's beloved fantasy novels. However, showrunner Lauren Hissrich addressed the British actor's exit in an Entertainment Weekly interview published on September 25, 2025:

“He had plans for other roles that he really wanted to commit himself to. And for us, you don’t want to hold someone and force them to be doing something that they don’t want to do. I think that’s why it felt like a really symbiotic decision.”

However, not many people believe her, as Cavill supposedly hinted at his displeasure just three days before his official exit in his interview with Josh Horowitz:

“If you believe what you’re doing, then you’ll be able to keep on doing it. It’s also important to know that if you realize you’re doing the wrong thing, that’s when you stop doing the wrong thing.”

What is season 4 about?

The fourth season of The Witcher is set after the devastating events of the season 3 finale. Now, the fourth season is probably about Yennefer, Ciri, and Geralt attempting to reunite. The synopsis for the fourth season reads:

"After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they encounter unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…"

Binge the previous three seasons of The Witcher that are accessible on Netflix before the fourth season streams on October 30, 2025.
