What happened on The Young and the Restless

Audra discusses strategy with Sally for their new venture. Sally suggested that Abbott Communications wasn't dead in the water. She promised Audra that it was legit. Audra wanted the name of a backer. Sally asked for more time as she needed to make sure that Billy didn't hate her for what she'd done. Audra grilled her pal for details.
Sally said she'd do whatever it took to make it happen. She asked for time. Audra asked if Sally went to Jack. Sally said it wasn't Billy's brother. Audra cautioned that she didn't want another Tucker or Jack situation. Sally hinted she'd gone to a woman.
Just then, Amy interrupted Audra and Sally's meeting. Amy gave Audra a positive update on her health, calling it ironic. Amy said she feared dying before making things right with her son. She lamented losing him for good. Audra said she was glad Amy was still there. Amy said she was glad to have good people in her life like Traci and Nate. She was sad Audra didn't come around much anymore. Sally expressed condolences to Amy.
At their table, Amy told Nate she didn't realize how awkward things were with Audra. Then, Lily joined Nate and Amy. She wondered why Audra was there and even still in town.
Amy said she'd love to look "Cane Ashby - Aristotle Dumas - whatever he's calling himself these days in the eye and tell him exactly what I think about him!!"
Lily said she talked to Mattie and Charlie, and they still have an issue with their dad. She wished she could make things better for them. Amy pointed out that Damian eventually forgave her for lying about his father. She suggested that Charlie and Mattie may get there one day.
Lily said it was hard to let go of Cane's secrecy. Amy suggested letting go of the anger. Amy said she didn't absolve Cane for his indirect role in Damian's death, but she does understand forgiveness. Lily said Damian was a good man, but she couldn't say that about Cane. Amy suggested the two not be compared. Lily shared that she has spent hours on the phone with Mattie and Charlie, and they were in tears.
Lily said that Cane couldn't see past his belief that what he had done was right. Lily compared her not forgiving Cane to Nate not being able to forgive Audra.
Audra wondered who was going to show up next. Might it be Kyle, or Jack and Diane? Sally asked her pal if she wanted to leave. Audra said no. Sally complimented her pal on handling things well with Amy. She added that it seemed like Amy missed you. Sally added that she'd never say, "I told you so."
Audra acknowledged that Sally was trying to be a good friend by warning her about Victor. Audra shared that she told Nate that Amy was like the mother she never had. Sally said that Amy still cares for Audra. Sally urged Audra not to beat herself up for what happened with Nate. Audra said she couldn't run from what she did. Audra thought she could have handled Victor and what he asked her to do. She was going to get her own company, right? "I was wrong, Sally. I was stupid and selfish. I lied to Nate over and over again," Audra lamented. "No one is to blame but me. It was all so wrong."
Sally urged Audra to tell Nate how she felt. Audra believed it was too late. Sally suggested that she take a chance if there's a possibility that she and Nate still care about each other.
Adam and Sally's breakup came up. Sally said this was different, as Adam still had feelings for Chelsea. Sally said there's still hope for her and Billy. She said she really loved him. Audra said that she and Nate weren't at the "I love you" stage yet.
Audra feared being vulnerable with Nate. Sally told her pal that she had nothing to lose. "Be brave," Sally advised. She added that if Audra were vulnerable, she might end up getting what she wanted.
Audra approached Amy, Lily, and Nate's table. She asked if she could speak to Nate, but added it didn't have to be right now. "Never would be preferable," Lily snarked. Nate said he didn't want to hear more lies. Lily advised him to stay. Amy advised that he follow his heart. Nate agreed to take a walk with Audra. Lily spied Sally watching Audra and Nate leave together.
Amy told Lily that she wasn't happy that Audra and Nate walked off together. Amy said that she saw a softer side to Audra than other people saw. Lily called her a user. Amy said that she wasn't out to make excuses for Audra. She knew that Audra lied, and that was wrong. Amy said that it broke her heart to see them in pain. Lily said that Nate cared for Audra, but she took him for granted. Lily noted that Audra's lies with her go back a long way. Sally walked by Lily's table. Lily asked Sally why she'd encourage Audra to break Nate's heart all over again.
Sally said that Audra made a mistake. "Yeah, but that's her m.o.," Lily said. Both women believe in forgiveness, but Lily said that she didn't want to see Nate get hurt. "People make mistakes," Amy said. Does that define who they are? Lily believed that in Audra's case, it does.
Billy visited Cane on his train and shared that Jill wanted a meeting with them. Cane said he had nothing to do with Jill's call. Cane asked Billy if he was nervous. Billy said he could tell Jill about his plans for domination. "Don't you think Jill has a right to know that you plan to decimate all the livelihoods of all her family and friends in Genoa City?" Billy asked Cane.
Billy theorized Jill would take Cane's side. Cane said that Jill doesn't blindly favor him, despite what Billy thought. Billy said he couldn't figure out Cane. "Aren't we all a series of contradictions?" Cane quipped.
Cane suggested to Billy that he get back on board with Abbott Communications. Billy asked Cane if he was going to follow through with his plan.
Billy wondered if Cane's goal was to keep the big players guessing. "That wouldn't be a bad idea, would it?" Cane countered. Billy said it wasn't a bad idea to use the threat of AI and never follow through with it. Cane said he wasn't going to confirm or deny. Billy said it was time to take off the mask. He suggested Cane focus on what mattered -- his kids. Cane asked if he could do both. Billy didn't think he could. Billy said that he knew what he was doing when he was trying to get back at Jill and Victor. Billy said he was trying to save Cane.
Billy suggested that Cane was trying to get back at everyone in Genoa City. Cane said he didn't have to explain himself. Billy said that Cane couldn't convey why he was doing what he was doing. Billy noted that Cane lost everything while he was building his empire. He asked Cane if he wanted to be the father that Mattie and Charlie deserved or not.
Cane said he'd meet Billy halfway to prove that his intentions were good. Billy asked how he'd do that. Billy wasn't interested in hearing from Cane about another deal. Cane said this one was personal. He'll try with his kids if Billy tries with his mother. Just then, Jill appeared on Cane's train. "You hurt me more than you will ever know, Billy," Jill said.
At Chancellor Park, Audra made small talk about the weather. Then, she recalled when Nate was so good to her. "You have always given me the benefit of the doubt, and I repaid you by breaking your heart," Audra lamented to her ex. She said she was so incredibly sorry for what she'd done.
Audra said that she wanted to create something amazing with Vibrante, but she didn't take Nate's feelings into account. "I don't think I've told you clearly how much you mean to me, but I miss you. And I miss what we had," Audra confessed. She said she had a habit of pushing people away.
She shared that she'd never felt lonelier in her life. Audra asked if there was anything she could do to get Nate to forgive her.
