Fresh off the show's slam-dunk in this year's Daytime Emmy nominations, As the World Turns is set to mark another achievement this week.
On April 2nd, As the World Turns marks 45 years on the air. For those of you wondering how many episodes of the soap have been produced, we have an answer. 11,477.
Irna Phillips, creator of As the World Turns, sums up the show and its title quite easily. "As the world turns, we know the bleakness of winter, the promise of spring, the fullness of summer and the harvest of autumn - the cycle of life is complete. What is true of the world, nature, is also true of man - he too has his cycle."
