ATWT Releases Another Chris; Role To Be Recast

Alan White (
Chris Hughes) has been released from the role of As The World Turns' Christopher Hughes.
White, the third actor to play the part in as many years, followed Ben Jorgensen and
Paul Korver as the most recent actors to play Chris. Jorgensen was dismissed in 1999 after only a few weeks with the show. Korver followed in the role and was
released in March 2001. Chris was written off of the show until White joined the cast in July 3rd of this year.
According to a show spokesperson, the writers decided to "take the character in a new direction." The role will be recast.
As The World Turns recently put out a casting call for a 20-something businessman, however, a show spokesperson would not comment when questioned if the casting call was for a new Chris.
White will make his final on-air appearance on September 17th.
