Mark Hapka will exit Days of our Lives in the upcoming weeks. The actor has been let go from the NBC soap. Hapka joined DAYS in 2009.

Jay Kenneth Johnson and Shelley Hennig will exit Days of our Lives in the upcoming weeks. Both stars have opted to leave the show. Hennig first appeared in 2007. Johnson debuted in 1999.

One Life to Live has hired former As the World Turns and Days of our Lives star Austin Peck. The actor's role remains a bit of a mystery, but Peck will began taping next week.

Kyle Lowder and The Bold and the Beautiful will be going their own ways. Lowder was recently informed that the show is unable to generate story for his on-screen alter ego. Lowder joined B&B in 2007.

In a big casting move, Days of our Lives has opted to recast the role of Taylor Raines. "Class act" Natalia Livingston is out, and the show has re-hired Tamara Braun to take the character in a new direction.

Tamara Braun is back at Days of our Lives this week -- but not as Ava, the role for which she won a Daytime Emmy in 2009. The actress has been cast as DAYS' new Taylor Walker, a role that the show wanted to take in a new direction.

Bren Foster makes his debut as Days of our Lives' mononymic Quinn during May Sweeps. The Australian actor was hired in early March for the role of a charming businessman that, at the time, was going by another name.

Fan favorite Matthew Ashford will reprise the role of Days of our Lives' Jack Deveraux this summer. Ashford made his DAYS debut in 1987, and is also known for roles on One Life to Live and General Hospital.

Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful will soon seen less of Emmy winner Rick Hearst. The actor will be taken off-contact next month. Hearst has also appeared on Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, and The Young and the Restless.
Dena Higley

Days of our Lives is apparently seeking some creative changes. The NBC soap has dismissed its head writer, Dena Higley. Higley's work, ironically, was honored with a Daytime Emmy nomination this year. Higley had served as head writer since 2008.

Fan favorite Crystal Chappell's Days of our Lives run is coming to an end. The actress, who made a much-anticipated return to the show just two years ago, has revealed that her contract is not being renewed. Chappell made her DAYS debut in 1990.
Louise Sorel

Louise Sorel will exit her role as Vivian Alamain, possibly by the end of the summer. The actress has revealed that her contract will not be renewed. Sorel made her first DAYS appearance in 1992, and returned to DAYS in 2009 after a nine-year absence from the show.

One of Days of our Lives' most popular couples will soon be reunited on-screen. Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn will reprise their roles as Marlena and John this summer.

Days of our Lives has cut long-time favorite Nadia Bjorlin from its roster. Bjorlin made her DAYS debut in 1999. Her new on-screen romantic interest, Bren Foster, has also been let go from the show.

Tamara Braun will exit Days of our Lives this summer. The actress, who'd previously played Ava and rejoined the show this year as Taylor, is the victim of a massive restructuring at the NBC soap. Braun has also appeared on General Hospital and All My Children.

Two-time Daytime Emmy nominee Sydney Penny will play the short-term role of a doctor on Days of our Lives later this summer. Penny has appeared on All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Sunset Beach.
Christie Clark

Austin and Carrie are headed back to Salem later this year. NBC has confirmed that Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon will reprise their roles in September. Clark last appeared on DAYS in February, but Muldoon has been away from daytime since 1995.

Three-time Emmy winner Sarah Brown will join the cast of Days of our Lives later this year. The actress has appeared previously on As the World Turns, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful. Brown was taken off contract with B&B earlier this year.
