January 2011 B&B, Kyle Lowder part ways Kyle Lowder and The Bold and the Beautiful will be going their own ways. Lowder was recently informed that the show is unable to generate story for his on-screen alter ego. Lowder joined B&B in 2007.

February 2011 DAYS co-head writer Christopher Whitesell exits Christopher Whitesell will no longer be co-head writing episodes of Days of our Lives. The Emmy-winning scribe is no longer with NBC, though it remains unclear if Whitesell opted out or was let go.

February 2011 Livingston out as Taylor, Braun returning In a big casting move, Days of our Lives has opted to recast the role of Taylor Raines. "Class act" Natalia Livingston is out, and the show has re-hired Tamara Braun to take the character in a new direction.

February 2011 DAYS seeking three new male roles Christopher Whitesell will no longer be co-head writing episodes of Days of our Lives. The Emmy-winning scribe is no longer with NBC, though it remains unclear if Whitesell opted out or was let go.

March 2011 Bren Foster cast in renamed new DAYS role Foster... it's Australian for Quinn. At least on Days of our Lives. Australian actor Bren Foster has been cast as the newly created Quinn, a character that as of last month had an entirely different name.

April 2011 Eric Winter lands FOX pilot Former Days of our Lives star Eric Winter has landed a role in a planned drama series for FOX about a psychiatric hospital. Winter appeared as Rex DiMera on DAYS from 2002 to 2005.

April 2011 Tamara Braun takes over as Taylor Tamara Braun is back at Days of our Lives this week -- but not as Ava, the role for which she won a Daytime Emmy in 2009. The actress has been cast as DAYS' new Taylor Walker, a role that the show wanted to take in a new direction.

April 2011 Bren Foster makes May Sweeps debut Bren Foster makes his debut as Days of our Lives' mononymic Quinn during May Sweeps. The Australian actor was hired in early March for the role of a charming businessman that, at the time, was going by another name.

May 2011 Matthew Ashford brings Jack back to Salem Fan favorite Matthew Ashford will reprise the role of Days of our Lives' Jack Deveraux this summer. Ashford made his DAYS debut in 1987, and is also known for roles on One Life to Live and General Hospital.

May 2010 Rick Hearst dropped to recurring on B&B Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful will soon seen less of Emmy winner Rick Hearst. The actor will be taken off-contact next month. Hearst has also appeared on Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, and The Young and the Restless.

May 2011 Dena Higley out as Days of our Lives' head writer Days of our Lives is apparently seeking some creative changes. The NBC soap has dismissed its head writer, Dena Higley. Higley's work, ironically, was honored with a Daytime Emmy nomination this year. Higley had served as head writer since 2008.

June 2011 Crystal Chappell's DAYS contract won't be renewed Fan favorite Crystal Chappell's Days of our Lives run is coming to an end. The actress, who made a much-anticipated return to the show just two years ago, has revealed that her contract is not being renewed. Chappell made her DAYS debut in 1990.

June 2011 Days of our Lives' Louise Sorel: I'm gone Louise Sorel will exit her role as Vivian Alamain, possibly by the end of the summer. The actress has revealed that her contract will not be renewed. Sorel made her first DAYS appearance in 1992, and returned to DAYS in 2009 after a nine-year absence from the show.

June 2011 Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn returning to DAYS One of Days of our Lives' most popular couples will soon be reunited on-screen. Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn will reprise their roles as Marlena and John this summer.

June 2011 Nadia Bjorlin out at Days of our Lives Days of our Lives has cut long-time favorite Nadia Bjorlin from its roster. Bjorlin made her DAYS debut in 1999. Her new on-screen romantic interest, Bren Foster, has also been let go from the show.

The actress, who'd previously played Ava and rejoined the show this year as Taylor, is the victim of a massive restructuring at the NBC soap. July 2011 Tamara Braun gone in latest DAYS cuts Austin and Carrie are headed back to Salem later this year. NBC has confirmed that Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon will reprise their roles in September. Clark last appeared on DAYS in February, but Muldoon has been away from daytime since 1995.
