Following is a complete list of this year's Daytime Emmy winners and nominees in the drama series categories. Additionally, there is one category listed (Outstanding Original Song) in which non-soaps also compete for the Emmy. Winners are in boldface type and marked with a bullet (•).

For at least the fourth straight year, The Young and the Restless earned the most Emmy nominations. This year the show nabbed twenty-one nominations---almost twice as many as General Hospital, which was second on the list with thirteen nominations. Newcomer Sunset Beach pulled down a respectible eight nominations while other new soap, Port Charles, received only two nods.
