Daytime mourns death of Frances Reid, DAYS' Alice Horton Frances Reid, known to millions of viewers as Alice Horton, the beloved matriarch of Days of our Lives' Horton family, has died. The actress, who once said she would not work on soaps because it was too exhausting, passed away on February 3, 2010. She was 95.
