Madison insisted to Liza that she had lied about Greenlee threatening to kill David. Liza didn't believe Madison's claims, so she made it clear that Madison would have to testify. Greenlee decided to tell Ryan about her feelings for him after her legal troubles were behind her and she had been assured that Ryan was not a suspect. Erica and Jackson returned to Pine Valley. Jackson enlisted Krystal's help with Greenlee's defense. Jackson quickly secured Greenlee's release from jail. Greenlee was surprised to learn that Ryan had reached out to Jackson to let him know about Greenlee's legal troubles. Madison apologized to Greenlee. Jackson warned Greenlee that Liza had a strong case against her, so their best line of defense was to implicate another suspect like Ryan. Damon was stunned by Liza's offer to be her file clerk. Damon accepted the job. Annie was furious when JR ruined her party. Anger quickly turned to passion when JR confessed that he had meant to humiliate Scott and that it had killed him to see Annie marry Scott. Scott walked in on Annie and JR in bed together. Scott ended his marriage to Annie and then vowed to take everything that JR felt that entitled to, including JR's son and company. Opal warmly greeted Erica at Fusion. Erica promised Opal that she would team up with Caleb to take back Cortlandt Electronics. Caleb reminded Erica that she had quit, but Erica insisted that she knew the Chandlers better than Caleb did. Erica managed to send Annie into panic mode when Erica warned that she knew that Scott had stolen something from Palmer. JR suggested that he and Annie work together to keep from losing everything.

What happened during the week of
Stephanie admitted to Brooke that she was going to refuse treatment for her stage four lung cancer. Stephanie set off on a bucket list with Brooke in tow, and they rode a rollercoaster, where Stephanie lost a scarf that had belonged to her mother. Stephanie went in search of the scarf, and encountered a homeless man she had met when she had amnesia years before. Stephanie also found the woman who had taken her scarf, and the woman threatened Stephanie with a broken bottle. Brooke prepared to intervene. Wearing sexy lingerie, Steffy flirted with Liam during her interview for Eye on Fashion, to no avail. Hope and Steffy argued over Steffy's behavior, but Steffy made it clear that she wanted Liam. Nick fired Owen and Bridget, and Jackie objected. In private, Nick and Bridget tearfully parted. Bridget said that she understood how much it hurt Nick to see Bridget with Owen's baby. Nick named Amber the head designer at Jackie M, and Amber was so excited that she kissed Nick. Rick didn't let up in his pursuit of Jackie. Rick insisted that an engagement to him would take the heat off Jackie M's scandal between Owen and Bridget. Aggie told Whip that she was in love with Nick.

Nicole promised Brady that she would not tell the authorities of Vivian's whereabouts. Victor questioned Brady's judgment about his renewed romantic interest in Nicole. E.J. manipulated Arianna to help him prove that either Sami or Will had shot him. Melanie overheard Nathan tell Stephanie that Chloe had cheated on Daniel. Melanie blasted Nathan for lying to her. Later, she confronted Chloe and forced her to confess to the affair. Kayla encouraged Stephanie to be honest with Nathan. Justin told Bo that Hope had signed their divorce papers. Vivian managed to contact Gus, but he refused to help her. Kate decided to reconsider her job offer to Chad. Sami told Will not to trust Arianna.

Lucky was surprised when Luke, dressed as a priest, paid Lucky a visit in an Irish prison. Luke advised Lucky to romance Siobhan, so that she wouldn't reveal what she knew. Sam eavesdropped on Jason and Michael's conversation. Michael asked Jason to find him an escort because Michael believed that a professional could help him deal with his sexual issues. Jason refused to give in to Michael's demands; however, Sam arranged for Michael to meet her friend Candy. Sam assured Michael that Candy would be happy to help him out. Michael reacted violently when Candy ran her hands under his shirt. Sam resented Suzanne ordering her out of Jason's office. Suzanne explained that Brenda's safety was important to millions of children. Suzanne didn't think that Brenda should die because Sam didn't want to share her boyfriend. Diane took delight in telling Suzanne that Sonny was on Brenda like "white on rice." Brenda went to Greystone Manor to let Sonny know that she was in town. Sonny decided to break things off with Claire because of his feelings for Brenda. Claire called her bosses to let them know that she would help them gather evidence against Sonny, even though she couldn't prosecute him. Jax and Brenda reunited. Carly demanded that Jax stay away from Brenda for the sake of their marriage. Robin slowly recovered from her ordeal in the well. Lisa was transported to Shadybrook for treatment. Robin decided to move forward with her plans to divorce Patrick. Robin and Brenda had a heart-to-heart talk. Brenda decided that she wanted to be free to love whom she loved. Brenda and Dante were surprised to see each other again. Brenda was stunned to learn that Dante was Sonny's son.

Todd was stunned when Téa called him, but the nurse snatched the phone out of Téa's hand before Téa could say anything beyond Todd's name. Todd called the number back, but the nurse claimed that she had misdialed. John found Greg on the brink of death after Eli had injected Greg with a deadly dose of morphine. The Evans family raced to Greg's side. Viki wasn't pleased when Echo DiSavoy turned up on her doorstep. Charlie was surprised to learn that Echo had engaged in an affair with Clint. Echo claimed that she was in town to see Charlie, who had once been her lover when they had lived in Las Vegas. Everyone was surprised to discover that Dani had disappeared. Starr warned James that Natalie had found his necklace at the house. Starr admitted that she had lied to everyone, except Cole, to explain the necklace's presence. Dani feared that Natalie would figure out that James was hiding her in his apartment. Starr decided to sneak Dani onto Todd's yacht until they could prove that Téa's will had been forged. Hannah and Cole kissed. Hannah was crushed when Cole admitted that his heart belonged to Starr. John warned Todd that Eli was alive. Ross met his brother on the docks. Eli shot Ross and then tossed Ross's body into the water before Todd showed up with a gun. Eli managed to gain the upper hand and fled. Todd started to follow Eli, but Ross reached up out of the water to beg for Todd's help. Dani jumped to the wrong conclusion when she saw Todd standing over Ross's dead body. Dani ran to her sister's apartment before the authorities arrived at the docks. Starr arrived home to find that Eli had killed the babysitter. Eli took Dani, Starr, and Hope hostage.

Meggie ran into Murphy at the Harvest Festival and freaked out because he knew her true identity. Murphy tried to call Victor to warn him about Meggie, but chest pains impeded him; Meggie stole Murphy's medicine to make sure he went into cardiac arrest. Murphy was rushed to the hospital, but did not regain consciousness. Meggie went to the hospital and secretly poisoned Murphy when no one was around. J.T. and Ronan found Murphy's situation suspicious and opened an investigation. Daniel had an art show. Abby invited a famous art consultant to the show, and the consultant loved Daniel's work. Noah sang and played guitar at the show; Devon was impressed and asked if Noah would like to record his music. Noah and Jana started to hang out and become friends. Jack and Phyllis got back together. Diane returned to Genoa City. Victor offered to settle with Victoria and Abby, but they refused his offer because they did not want Victor to control their lives anymore. Nikki was upset over the family feud and told Victor that she wanted to elope, instead of hosting a big wedding. It was the one-year anniversary of Colleen's death, so the Abbott family mourned their loss. Cane admitted to Lily that the Australian gangsters were after their family.
