Ridge and Caroline slipped away to marry themselves at a Malibu beach house. Thomas hid his disappointment with it in a kiss with Nicole. Ridge made an appointment with a doctor, but Brooke urged him to tell Caroline the truth in case the vasectomy reversal didn't work. Steffy fired Ivy, and Wyatt fired back by appealing to Bill to open a rival fashion house. When Katie and Bill visited Forrester, Liam and Steffy exerted their authority at the company. Liam wondered if Bill had lost confidence in him, but Steffy believed Bill respected Liam for asserting himself. Bill was intrigued at the idea of starting a new fashion house but decided not to ignite a war between his sons.

With Marlena's blessing, John reopened his investigations into his past. Hope and Aiden told their children about their engagement. Rafe seemed disappointed to learn that Hope was engaged. Joey lashed out at Hope for divorcing Bo. Steve read Bo's last letter to Hope, and he apologized to her. Still worried about Bo, Steve used his and John's connections to find Bo. Abigail defended Chad to Stefano. After stopping Chad from leaving town, Abigail convinced him to undergo hypnotherapy with Marlena. Stefano had a heart attack. Chad decided that Stefano had not framed him for murder. Ben confronted Abigail about her feelings for Chad. Ben told Abigail about his tracking app, and he made Abigail promise not to spend time with Chad. Clyde told the police that he had seen Chad outside Paige's dorm before her murder. J.J. told Jennifer that Clyde was the drug kingpin, but Clyde stopped him before he could tell Roman. Gabi was released from prison. Will told Gabi about his affair with Paul and his separation from Sonny. Chad remembered Clyde had talked to him at the bar the night of Serena's murder.

Sonny's heart stopped when the bullet lodged near his spine shifted, so Carly authorized Patrick to operate. Sonny's loved ones were relieved when Patrick announced that the risky surgery had been a success. Kristina returned home to reunite with her father. Julian was detained for shooting Sonny but later released when evidence failed to corroborate Julian's involvement. Julian implored Alexis to go into hiding with him until the police found the person responsible for Sonny's shooting. Alexis took Julian to a lake house that she had recently rented without anyone's knowledge. Morgan vowed to kill Julian, and he persuaded Milo to give him a gun. Morgan eventually tracked Julian down. Plagued by guilt, Elizabeth tried to tell Jake the truth about his identity, but little Jake interrupted the confession when he woke up from a nightmare. Scott struck bargain with Ava that would net him $5,000,000 in exchange for the flash drive and getting the charges against her dropped. After Ava was released from jail, she and Scott returned to his hotel room to fetch the flash drive, but it had been stolen. Paul turned up on Ava's doorstep, offering to help her. Dante was tempted to tell Lulu the truth about his one-night stand with Valerie, but he changed his mind out of fear of losing Lulu and destroying his family. Valerie confided to Nathan that she still had feelings for Dante. Patrick asked Sam to marry him.

Jack left Phyllis at the cabin while he dealt with business, and she spent more time with Ian, who posed as a widower named Fred. Adam and Kevin forged an alliance to share what they learned about the Paragon Project. Abby rebranded Chelsea's fashion line as Chelsea 2.0, and she took credit when sales spiked, but the Paragon Project had falsified the figures. Nick pretended to support Abby in an effort to manipulate her business decisions. Adam ordered Ian not to tank Chelsea's line as part of their scheme to destroy Newman. After a mutually unrewarding sexual encounter, Kevin and Mariah agreed to stay just friends. Dylan learned about the hooker and the incriminating video from Devon's bachelor party, and Colin insinuated that Neil had been behind the setup. To explain his odd behavior, Neil fibbed to Devon and Gwen that he'd started drinking again. Cane was livid when he learned Joe had been spending time with the Ashby family in Cane's absence, and he ordered Joe to stay away from Lily and the twins. Michael told Devon that the lead about a private plane taking a woman on a gurney from Virgin Gorda to Dallas had turned out to be a dead end. Sharon checked herself into Fairview. Marisa's husband, Luca, arrived in town and resolved to win Marisa back. Jack worried that Victor was still working with Marco.
