Emily arrives and overhears the conversation

Emily defends Patty, and explains the nature of her illness

Phyllis remains hostile, and verbally attacks Emily

Realizing this is going nowhere, Emily tells Phyllis she should go

Phyllis leaves, but as a parting shot, tells Emily to keep her distance from her and her loved ones

Jack tells Emily exactly what Patty did to Summer, explaining why Phyllis is so upset

Chance is gravely wounded and may require a splenectomy

Chloe refuses to leave an injured Chance’s side

An emotional conversation with Kay clarifies things for Chloe

Chloe makes it clear how strong her feelings for Chance really are, and how unworthy of him she feels

Chloe reveals all to Chance… while he’s sleeping

Chance wakes up in time to catch the end of Chloe’s speech

Chance hopes that Chloe will follow through on her vow to be less shallow and frivolous

Later, leaving Chance’s room, Chloe comes across Nina

Nina isn’t reconciled to the idea of Chance and Chloe having a relationship

Chloe tells Nina that her feelings for Chance are sincere, and confirms that her divorce is a done deal

The Chancellors are relieved to learn that Chance will recover

Phillip promises Nina that this time, he’ll be a rock

Nina is disappointed when Phillip fails to deliver

Later, Phillip’s visit with his son is interrupted when Chance’s condition takes a turn for the worse

Phillip runs for help

Jaws drop as the news of Mac’s potential surrogacy spreads

Lily shocks Neil, while meantime, Mac shocks Billy with the news
