Actor Alan Tudyk's wife is Charissa Barton, who is a choreographer. The two of them have been married since 2016.

American actor and comedian Alan Tudyk is famous for his work in the “Firefly” (2002), “Serenity” (2005), “A Knight's Tale” (2001), and most recently in the show “Resident Alien” which concluded in 2024. Tudyk is also known for his work as a voice actor in many popular animated movies like “Big Hero 6”, “Moana”, “Wreck-It Ralph” and many more.

Actor and comedian Alan Tudyk has been married to Charissa Barton since September 24, 2016. According to People.com, Tudyk and Barton had a playful interaction on Twitter while announcing their marriage. Two days before their marriage, the actor posted:

“getting married saturday. any tips?”

To which, his would-be wife replied:

“Get married at the same time that I do, same venue, same altar. #cantwait.”

Charissa Barton is a renowned choreographer. She has two sisters, Cherice and Aszure. All three of them have been trained in many dance forms like ballet and jazz, as well as theater and acting. During her last years of childhood, Charissa focused on ballet and eventually joined Alberta Ballet as an apprentice. Her sister, Cherice, was already part of the company. However, Charissa eventually realized that classical ballet was not quite her calling. She eventually ended up at Juilliard School, about which she shared extensively in an interview (which also had her two other sisters):

“I went to The Juilliard School, which proved to be exactly what I needed. From there, I joined Parsons Dance and toured for a few years; I felt incredibly lucky to be able to travel the world doing what I love. At that time, Cherice and Aszure were both in New York, and I performed in some of Aszure’s choreographic projects.”

Charissa then did some humanitarian work in her mid-thirties before shifting to LA, which ultimately brought her back into the world of dancing.

How did Charissa Barton end up working with her husband?

Charissa Barton has worked in DC’s “Peacemaker”, starring John Cena in the lead. Barton is the one who choreographed the now iconic title sequence of the show. In an interview with EW, Barton shared her experience about working on the show, where the creator, James Gunn, gave her complete creative control. She said:

“That really opened me up to think outside the box so I got to play with a lot of things, some that didn't work and we honed in on what did work”.

Barton also had the good luck of involving her husband Alan in this, as he was shooting nearby. About that experience, Barton mentioned:

"My husband Alan Tudyk is an actor and not a trained dancer and he was great to have around to measure what might be too challenging for non-trained dancers and what might push to the very edge of it."

She added:

"He made himself available to me to test out some things and he was a very willing participant. And then I worked with professional dancers to help solidify what the sequences were and taught the actors and then shot it.”
