She is best known for her portrayals of Rebecca Knight in the 2017 BET crime drama series “Rebel,” Charlie Minnick in the 2020 Fox action drama series “Deputy,” and Sergeant Ayanna Bell in the NBC mystery crime franchise “Law & Order.” She is also involved in several community outreach and artist support initiatives.

She also contributed to Disney’s production of “The Princess and the Frog (2009),” by being the video reference model for Princess Tiana. Truitt also voiced Georgia’s character in the film. More recently, she has portrayed Sergeant Ayanna Bell in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2021-2022),” and “Law & Order: Organized Crime (2021- 2024).” Sergeant Bell is the commanding officer at the Organized Crime Control Bureau (OCCB).
