The property includes a sheep farm and a 47-acre lake. Apart from the main house, the property also has 2 barns, a caretaker’s cottage, and an art studio for Gummer. This was the first house where Streep raised her children, and it also provided her and her family with privacy as it was in a secluded area. They still own this house.

In 1995, Meryl Streep and Don Gummer bought a townhouse in Greenwich Village, New York for $2.2 million. The house was originally built in 1845, and it is a five-story building in a Greek Revival–style that spans over 6,585 square feet. It consists of 6 bedrooms, a dining room with a capacity of 16 people, a bar area, a rooftop garden, and an outdoor garden. It also has a primary suite which is on the top floor. Streep sold this house in 2005 for $9.1 million to Elizabeth “Libet” Johnson.

In 2006, Meryl Streep and Don Gummer purchased a penthouse apartment in Tribeca, New York for $10.3 million. The penthouse is on the 24th floor and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms which span over 3,944 square feet in area. It also includes a private elevator, a skylight-topped entrance gallery, and a fireplace, and it offers views of the Hudson. In 2018, they listed the house for sale at $24.6 million, and in early 2020, it was sold for $15.8 million.

In 2013, Meryl Streep bought a house in Hollywood Hills, known as the Honnold & Rex Research House, for $4.5 million. The 3,700-square-foot house was built in 1954 and has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It was built in a mid-century style using concrete, wood, and glass. The house also has a 2 story living room and stone wall, a fireplace, fountains, and walled courtyards. In 2014, Streep sold the house for $4.8 million to Alex Rodriguez.

In 2017, Streep bought a house in Pasadena, California for $3.6 million. It was built in the 1950s and is in a mid-century-modern style designed by famous architects Whitney Smith and Wayne Williams. The 3,087-square-foot house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It has large windows, a fireplace, and a swimming pool. The house has 360-degree views of the city and is surrounded by the San Gabriel mountains. According to Architectural Digest, Streep still owns this house.
