Now that his run as General Hospital's Nikolas Cassadine has wrapped, Adam Huss is taking a look back at his whirlwind time in Port Charles.

When Adam Huss made his debut on General Hospital in 2021, the actor was already someone that fans had been buzzing about -- and it had nothing to do with the role he'd been hired to play.

In 2022, Huss appeared on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful as Lance. Lance wasn't a major character, but his death was. He was killed when Sheila Carter released the kraken a swarm of killer bees on him.

That un-bee-lievable role was Huss's only on-screen soap role, but the actor continued to try out for roles on other soaps. As it turns out, Huss had auditioned for various General Hospital roles in the past. That meant he was already somewhat familiar with the show before GH casting director Mark Teschner tapped him to step in for the role of Nikolas Cassadine.

Huss first subbed for Marcus Coloma in 2021 when Coloma was sidelined due to illness. Huss appeared several more times before being asked back to wrap up the character's story arc after Coloma and GH parted ways in December 2022.

When Huss got the call to return to GH, he had been preparing to go on a road trip to head home for Christmas. He ultimately changed his plans so he could visit Port Charles instead.

"I went through so many emotions," Huss told Soap Opera Digest. When the actor read his scripts and learned what was about to happen to Nikolas, he felt fear and excitement.

But would Huss ever consider returning to General Hospital on a full-time basis?

"I would be so honored to be asked back to that show. I love every ounce of it. I feel like soap operas are sort of the unsung hero [of entertainment]. I love the work that I got to do there," Huss told Digest.

Huss shared that his short time in daytime was possibly more rewarding than some of his longer-term primetime work.

"I was in a primetime TV show, Power, for three years as a supporting character, and even though I was a series regular, I didn't really get the scenes I got to do on GH," he explained.

Huss's final GH scenes aired last week.

What did you think of Adam Huss's time on General Hospital? Would you like to see him return -- even if it were in another role? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
