Amidst rumors that Tonja Walker would be returning to General Hospital, the ABC soap has released a statement that the actress is indeed returning to Port Charles. However, it might not be as cut and dried as it seems. Walker may be playing a brand-new character.
"General Hospital has hired soap veteran Tonja Walker for a prominent role to begin airing in early 2017," reads the official statement that also includes a quote from executive producer Frank Valentini.
"We are very happy to be bringing Tonja back to GH," he says. "While we can't share what role she'll be playing, we can guarantee that she'll be shaking things up in Port Charles."
