Just three months after announcing her pregnancy, longtime fan favorite General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) has suffered a miscarriage.

The heartbreaking news was shared on the actress' Instagram account on Thursday, January 25.

"Our hearts are with Vanessa and MC who have lost baby OPM," reads the official statement along with a photo of Marcil and her partner, whom she calls MC. "Thank you for respecting their privacy as they heal and thank you for sharing all of your personal stories. You are not alone."

Marcil announced the news of her pregnancy back in November and revealed at the time that she has had six prior miscarriages. Earlier this month, the soap community celebrated the 49-year-old's news that her baby was going to be a girl.

Marcil, who is also known for her roles on Beverly Hills, 90210 and Las Vegas, is mom to a fifteen-year-old son, Kassius, whom she shares with actor Brian Austin Green (ex-Brian Cunningham, Knott's Landing; ex-David, Beverly Hills, 90210).
