We also see Bob's touching relationship with his daughter, Ingrid.We see one of Derry's devastating events and losses occurring in this episode. One evening, Bob is on a break when he sees a young boy who asks the clown to help him find his mom screaming for help, and he obliges. Later, the circus owner gives Ingrid a bloodied handkerchief.The boy who met Pennywise is a form of the demonic shapeshifting entity before Bob Gray. This scene clarifies IT's lore after a confusion for a while, as to the timeline of the entity's presence on Earth. In the book, IT crashed on Earth centuries before the foundation of Derry. In fact, Derry was built around the crash site. IT: Welcome to Derry, Episode 7 provides a clearer picture now.The boy Bob Gray met must have been IT's victims, and the entity took that form to lure the clown. They demand that the bar patrons hand over Hank Grogan, but Dick Hallorann tries to protect him by saying they are not hiding anyone. When Bowers demands that the patrons allow them to inspect it, Hank comes out and surrenders himself to the mob.But the patrons who are also military threaten the racist group with their guns. There's a bit of a standoff between the two groups before Bowers orders his men to put down their guns, and they walk out. However, they realize to their horror that the racist group has locked the door from the outside and set the bar on fire.As Ronnie is separated from her father and searching for Hank, she comes across Pennywise. Dick also comes across the spirit of Seski, the Native American warrior who fought IT decades ago. She helps him save Will, Ronnie, and several other patrons' lives. This scene plays out suspensefully as Stanley is getting back home, but his car doesn't start. Meanwhile, Ingrid walks towards him in her Periwinkle costume, but Stan recognizes her nevertheless.He threatens her to take off the costume, but Ingrid sees Pennywise behind her abusive husband. The demonic clown is holding a cleaver and beheads the butcher. After that, he informs Ingrid that he will go into hibernation, but Ingrid pleads with him to stay and not abandon her. He looks at her threateningly, and Ingrid realizes that the demonic entity is not her father after all.IT informs Ingrid that her father is dead and uses the deadlights to render her catatonic. But the two find a small fridge, and Rich lies to Marge about enough room for both of them to get her into it. But Rich closes the door and lies on it to keep her safe. The two confess their feelings for each other, and the scene cuts to black.The next day, the firefighters rescue Marge out of the fridge when she finds Rich, who passed, possibly due to breathing in the fumes. As distraught Marge and Ronnie inform Lilly about Rich's death.Francis Shaw's plan revealedJames Remar as Lieutenant General Francis Shaw | Image Via: HBO MaxFrancis Shaw's plan until now seemed to be using the demonic entity to fight the Soviet Union and control it. However, Welcome to Derry Episode 7 finally reveals it to be a ruse. Shaw finally reveals that he intends to unleash the entity on the citizens of the entire country to "restore" order.To set Pennywise free, Shaw also melts one of the pillars (found with Dick's help) in the closing minutes of the episode.IT: Welcome to Derry Episode 7, "The Black Spot" is available to stream on HBO Max.
