To help make navigating the newly redesigned Soap Central web site, we've created this brief tutorial explaining some of the changes and the new features added to the site. The image displayed below is a smaller version of what each of our new pages looks like. The circled numbers on the image correspond to an explanation that appears to the right of the image.

1. Each of the pages in the Soap Central site has been made more welcoming with a colorful new logo and randomly generated photos of your favorite soap stars. The new logo also includes the web address for the soap section that you are visiting so you'll never forget where you are on the site.

2. Our brand new soap menu gives you easy access to the most popular features in each of our soap sections. Simply select the News, Daily Recaps, Scoop or Message Board option from anywhere within the site and you will instantly be linked to that information.

3. Never miss the latest breaking soap news. The colorful stripe at the top of the page gets you up-to-date with the biggest news story of the day.

4. Options allow you to quickly and easily bookmark any page of the site. There is also an option that allows you to make Soap Central your web browser's home page with a click or two of your mouse button.

5, 6. On the FrontPage of any of our soap sections, you can easily browse the big story of the moment for each soap as well as the latest news for that soap. On the main Soap Central, you will see a selection of the biggest stories for all nine soaps.

7. The left-hand menu bar appears on every page within the site. All of your many options for each soap are available in this easy-to-use menu. Select from News and Features, History and Research and Other Info. This menu is color-coded for each of the soaps on the site.

8. Access all of your favorite soaps with a simple click of your mouse. Our The Soaps menu lets you flip between the sections for the nine current soaps, a handful of soaps no longer on the air and message boards for primetime soaps.

9. On the FrontPage of any soap section, you will also be given a news brief of all the big stories from each of the nine soaps, as well as the soap world in general. If you see a news brief that interests you, simply click the link and instantly be taken to the full story -- wherever it may appear on the Soap Central site. This section has also been redesigned to include easy access links to the most popular features -- The FrontPage, Daily Recaps, The Scoop and Message Boards -- for each soap. Simply click the feature that you'd like to access and instantly be taken to that soap section.

10. Learn more about actors and characters appearing on other soap operas in our fun Soap Box section. These Soap Boxes will change periodically and provide little-known information about some of the biggest names in the soap business.

11. We've added additional information boxes to the bottom of select features of our site. On the FrontPage, you'll find our popular WT? On the Spot polls. Weigh in with your opinion on the poll of the day. On the Daily Recaps page, you can easily access daily recaps from five years ago -- with a single click. Quench your thirst for past soap opera history or, just for fun, find out what was happening in the past. Each section has its own unique options to help you explore the Soap Central web site and find fun and informative features that you may not have visited before.

12. Our new and improved footer allows you instant access to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Feedback sections. For our corporate visitors, you can also learn more about how to advertise your product or section on the Soap Central web site.

Other New Features

A. We know that many of our visitors watch more than just one soap. To make navigating from section to section even easier, we've added new links to our Daily Recaps and The Scoop pages. Under the menu section on each page, you will see a listing for every other soap covered by Soap Central. Simply click the soap that you're interested in, and you will be immediately taken to that soap's most recent Daily Recap or Scoop spoilers. Once you are on that page, you will have full access to that soap's features via the left-hand menu. Or, if there is another soap that you want to read up on, you can click another soap on the menu and be taken to that soap's section.

B. Also, because many of you like to print out our Daily Recaps and read them over breakfast, on the train ride to work or at some other point in your day while away from the computer, we've added a new feature to our Printable Recaps. You can now choose the "Week" option and print out the last five days of recaps for any of the soaps at one time. It's another way to help save you time. Look for this time saving feature at the bottom of any page in our Daily Recaps section.
