DAYS and GH receive Writers Guild Awards nominations

DAYS and GH receive Writers Guild Awards nominations

Days of our Lives and General Hospital have both been nominated to receive a 2018 Writers Guild Award.

Congratulations are in order for Days of our Lives and General Hospital, as both the NBC soap opera and ABC soap opera have officially made the list of dramas nominated for a 2018 Writers Guild Award.

DAYS' head writer, Ron Carlivati, took to Twitter with the news, writing: "Congratulations to my amazing team of writers at @nbcdays on our nomination for the 2018 Writers Guild Awards and also to all our colleagues at @GeneralHospital!"

GH writer Chris Van Etten also tweeted the news, writing: "Big congratulations to my fellow teammates at @GeneralHospital on a much-deserved nomination for a 2018 WGA Award! Oh yeah, nice job to that ol' so-and-so @carlivatiron and his rogues' gallery at @nbcdays for their nomination."

DAYS' writing team consists of head writer Carlivati along with writers Sheri Anderson, Lorraine Broderick, David Cherrill, Lisa Connor, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, Cydney Kelley, David Kreizman, David A. Levinson, Rebecca McCarty, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Elizabeth Snyder, and Tyler Topits.

GH's writing team consists of head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante along with writers Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Charlotte Gibson, Lucky Gold, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O'Connor, Dave Rupel, Katherine Schock, Scott Sickles, Christopher Van Etten, and Christopher Whitesell.

It should be noted that GH has taken home the WGA award the last two years in a row.

This year's winners will be announced at the 2018 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City. For the full list of nominated shows, click here.
