In the wake of the news that Angelica McDaniel has been let go from CBS, the daytime champion opens up about her exit, her successes as Senior Vice President of Daytime Programming, and what's on the horizon.

The daytime community was rocked by last week's news that Angelica McDaniel has exited her role as the Senior Vice President of CBS Daytime and that her position has been scrapped. As ABC and NBC have already done, the daytime duties at CBS will now be folded into current programming, a move that affects The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and all of the network's other daytime shows.

In the wake of the surprising restructuring news, McDaniel has taken to social media to share her thoughts on leaving the world she famously coined as "one big family."

"In my nine years at CBS I've had some incredible highlights," she shares on Instagram. "We launched a new show which is celebrating it's [sic] 10th season, created an immersive museum exhibit celebrating iconic Daytime shows, gathered more than 100 talent from the past and present to commemorate 30 years of television in a historic photo, developed an innovative show for young people celebrating female superstars in STEM to launch in a few weeks, traveled America's favorite game show wheel around the country, celebrated 116 Emmy wins and the many dances they spawned at after parties, and friendships that I'll always cherish."

She adds, "It's time for me to move on to new innovative territory, make even bigger successes, and always more great memories."

McDaniel joined CBS in the role of Vice President of Daytime Programming in August 2010. During her tenure, the CBS Daytime lineup -- which includes Y&R and B&B as well as Let's Make A Deal, The Price is Right, and The Talk -- continued its record-shattering run as the #1 daytime lineup. The network's winning streak now sits at an impressive 32 consecutive years.

As Soap Central previously reported, Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment, sent out an official statement about McDaniel's exit from the network.

"Angelica McDaniel championed our daytime series line up with creativity, passion, and energy and broke new ground by helping launch the Network's first daytime talk show in years while respecting the long history and tradition of the dramas and game shows," she stated. "We appreciate her many contributions and wish her well on her next endeavors."

What do you think about McDaniel's message regarding her exit from CBS Daytime? Where do you hope she lands in the future? Would you like to wish the exec success on whatever endeavors lie ahead? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
