The official numbers are in, and CBS Daytime has taken the number one spot as the nation's most-watched daytime lineup for the 33rd year in a row.

CBS Daytime once again ended the full 52-week broadcast year as the number one daytime lineup for the 33rd consecutive year, a streak that has never been equaled and, according to the network's official website, likely never will be.

As its voracious fans know, CBS Daytime offers viewers a fabulous mix of entertainment in the form of two soap operas, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, two game shows, The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal, and a talk show, The Talk.

During the past year, CBS Daytime programs reached a total of 105.5 million viewers (who watched at least six minutes), which was nearly 25 million more viewers than the second-place network.

To celebrate the special occasion of continuing its winning streak, CBS recalled some of the major moments of 1986, the first year that CBS topped in daytime. They include:

• The CBS primetime schedule featured Murder, She Wrote and Dallas

The Oprah Winfrey Show and Pee-Wee's Playhouse launched on television

• The musical Phantom of the Opera first premiered

• The United States first celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day

• Gasoline was $1.89 per gallon

• Emilia Clarke, Lindsey Lohan, and Lady Gaga were all born

• Ronald Reagan was president

In celebration of the exciting ratings news, the official Y&R Twitter account wrote, "Congratulations to everyone in the @CBSDaytime family for reaching 33 years at number one!"
