Kristoff St. John has message for doubters and critics of Neil

Have you found yourself questioning Neil's recent story arc on The Young and the Restless? Portrayer Kristoff St. John has words for you.

Poor Neil has had a really tough time of it lately. The Young and the Restless character went blind, found out his wife was sleeping with his son, fell off the wagon and started drinking again, drunkenly caused the death of an unborn baby, and has since been hellbent on exacting revenge on Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Devon (Bryton James) for sparking his downward spiral in the first place. It's been quite an exhausting and dark ride, and many Y&R fans have expressed that not only are they growing tired of the arc, but they also feel that Neil's vicious plan for revenge is completely out of character. But does Neil's portrayer, Kristoff St. John, agree?

The New York native took to Twitter today to share his thoughts and in doing so, urged fed-up fans to hold on a bit longer. "To the doubters/critics of Neil's uncharacteristic revenge," he tweeted. "Darkness overtakes us all, it's a matter of how long it takes to see the light."

St. John later added, "You're married, an accident leaves you blind. You discover that your spouse has been sleeping with your child for a year. What would you do?"

Though Neil's story has sparked quite a bit of controversy in the fan world, it's not the only current Y&R story pushing viewers' hot buttons. The ratings may be on a recent upswing, but criticism of the happenings in Genoa City is also up -- both in front of the camera and behind it. So perhaps now was the perfect time for CBS to swing in and create a Y&R poll that urges fans to open up and give completely honest opinions about the show. Have you taken the time to fill out CBS's official Y&R fan questionnaire? What you say has the potential to be heard by some of the soap's most influential executives, so open your hearts and let those opinions flow!
