Pine Valley will never be the same

Fans have been creative in their attempts to get me to spill the beans about the victim of the impending murder. One even went as far as to offer to ply me with homemade cookies. It's hard to keep a secret of this magnitude, but if you want me to be honest, I really wish that I didn't know what was going to happen.

His hard fall is coming

Although you can't tell it by his arrogant behavior, I think Victor's hard fall is on the way. The walls closing in from all directions, Victor's two hands will never be enough to fend off all the threats that are creeping closer.

It's a beer and pretzels kinda column

All My Children has had its fair share of villains over the years. Let's see, there was Ray Gardner, Billy Clyde Tuggle, Richard Fields. I think we need to add David Hayward to the list of evildoers. He's never been the nicest of guys, but was it really that bad to dump an aphrodisiac into the punch bowl?

Eric Braeden out as Y&R's Victor Newman is written out

The Young and the Restless without Eric Braeden's Victor Newman? It may seem unthinkable to fans of the CBS soap, but the unthinkable just became reality. A contract flap between Braeden and show execs has prompted the show to write out Victor and Nikki. Will either return? A rep says maybe not.

The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But? We Shall See...

Well, if you buy the notion that the truth will set you free, there are a couple of Genoa City citizens who will be bursting free in the very near future based on what happened this past week. Let's begin with the Newman we love to hate,

Team Cassadine

It looks like Christmas is arriving early for me. Claudia is on her way out and the Cassadines are on their way back to Port Charles. I, for one, couldn't be happier. I have nothing against Sarah J Brown; I wish her the best. However, Claudia was ruined for me the moment that Michael was shot in the head as a result of her machinations.

ABC has made a list and we're checking it twice

Well, the list is out. No, not the Forbes list of billionaires and how much money they lost per hour as a result of the recession. The list. We now officially know which All My Children stars are making the move to Los Angeles when the show relocates in January.

It was a dark and stormy night . . .

. . by the end of the week, and with all the things that were going on it, the stormy weather seemed somehow appropriate. At the young Newmans, a recently regressed practically to infanthood Summer was presumably sleeping while her flip-flopping father chose his usual way to prove to his recently renewed wife she was all he would ever want.

Okay, let's keep it real here for just a moment

There are certain things that have become known as soap opera staples over the years. The back-from-the-dead storylines, amnesia, the dramatic organ music from the "olden" days, and the stares into the camera when something suspenseful takes place.

Remember Me?

Yes, Jonathan Jackson, I do remember you. And I'm happy you're home. No disrespect to the wonderful Greg Vaughan, but in my heart Jonathan Jackson will always be the "real" Lucky.

Brad's shooting, Katie's impulsiveness, and Henry's character flaws

Absolute shock. There is no other way to describe my reaction to what went down in that warehouse this week. From Katie hallucinating and giving birth alone, to the tragic shooting of Brad, at the hand of his own brother, I was stunned.

Rock-head Ridge is a man on the edge of a Nervous Breakdown!

Remember that movie from years ago called Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown? I think we're seeing the Forrester interpretation of that but it's all about Ridge. Truly, this guy is out of control. His irrational fear of Rick destroying Steffy is out of control.

How the Other Half Lives: Enjoying the Flip Side of Soap Operas

I was talking to my partner in Two Scoops crime, Tony, the other week, and I came across a strange realization. Right now, as the current storylines sit on my beloved Days of Our Lives, I am experiencing the absolute opposite reaction that the writers are striving to achieve..

When The Man Comes Around

You can call him what you like: Rapist. Murderer. Psychopath. Saturday morning cartoon. But he just brushes the haters off and keeps on doing him. And those who know him best call him "The Messenger." Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Mitch Laurence is back.
