AMC fan fave lands royal role

Fans of All My Children alum Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos) will again be seeing the former daytime star on a regular basis: He's been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming drama Queen of the South.

Things are certainly looking rosy for former All My Children star Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos). In addition to recent roles on both Alpha House and Kingdom, he now has another series to add to his resume: USA's upcoming Queen of the South.

The Spanish-born actor has landed the role of a lawyer named Teo Aljarafe on the series, which is based on the best-selling book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte and tells the story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga), a woman who's forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America after her drug dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico.

According to Deadline, Consuelos' character is hired by a character named Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcón) to organize financial affairs. Attracted to the life and power that the cartel world brings, Teo soon realizes he is in too deep with all the wrong people...

Queen of the South is currently shooting in Dallas and is set to premiere later this year.
