Edward John David Redmayne, popularly known as Eddie Redmayne, is a British actor. He was born on January 6, 1982, in London, England, and has been working in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years. He attended Eton College alongside Prince William before studying the history of art at Trinity College, Cambridge. He made his screen debut in an episode of Animal Ark in 1998. Redmayne made his film debut with the film Like Minds (2006).
He got his breakthrough role as Colin Clark in the biopic My Week with Marilyn in 2011. He gained widespread popularity for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything in 2014 and won an Academy Award for his performance. The couple became parents for the first time in June 2016 when Bagshawe gave birth to their daughter, Iris Mary Redmayne. In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Redmayne talked about when they took their daughter to her first Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and said, “There was this fear like, 'What if she cries lots and then they don't sleep and they blame all of their lack of success on Iris?' But she was amazing. She was so calm."
