Born on March 21st, 1958, Gary Oldman is a renowned English actor and filmmaker who started his career at the age of 19 in theatre in 1978. He made his film debut three years later in Remembrance but it wasn’t until 1986 that Oldman started getting bigger roles. The Englishman's roles in Sid and Nancy, Prick Your Ears, and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead earned him recognition. Things only picked up from there for Oldman as he was nominated for several awards including BAFTAs, Academy Awards, Golden Globe awards, and more.


It wasn’t until 2017 that he won his first Best Actor award, winning the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA for his role in the Darkest Hour. He was also nominated for his roles in Prick Up Your Ears, Nil by Mouth, Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, and several other films. His latest nomination was for his role in Slow Horses, with Oldman nominated for an Emmy, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe, amongst others, in 2024.
