Isla Fisher is an Australian actress, author, and voice artist known for her versatile performances across film, stage, and television. She was born on February 3, 1976, in Muscat, Oman, and began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age. She appeared in television commercials at the age of nine and also featured in several children’s shows. Her role as Shannon Reed in the soap opera “Home and Away (1994-1997),” earned her critical attention as well as a Logie Award nomination.


Later, she transitioned to Hollywood and gained international recognition for her portrayal of Gloria Cleary in the 2005 romantic comedy film “Wedding Crashers.” Her performance also earned her an MTV Movie Award for “Best Breakthrough Performance” in 2006. Beyond acting, she is also a children’s book author and voice actor. She lent her voice to animated films such as “Rango (2011)” and “Rise of the Guardians (2012).”


She is the creator of the children’s book series “Marge in Charge”. The series follows Marge, “a mischievous babysitter with rainbow hair” and an affinity for bending rules. Moreover, she is deeply involved in charitable work and serves as an ambassador of the charity “Save the Children.” Fisher’s father was a senior executive for “Save the Children Australia” during her childhood, and part of her passion and dedication stems from his influence.

Fisher’s filmography is an amalgamation of romantic comedies, thrillers, and family-friendly films. She starred as Katie in the 2006 rom-com Wedding Daze, as Rebecca Bloomwood in the 2009 rom-com “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” and as Katie in the 2012 rom-com “Bachelorette.” She played Henley Reeves in the 2013 crime thriller movie “Now You See Me,” and Ginny Hawkins in the 2010 crime comedy film “Burke and Hare.” More recently, she voiced Sarah Hatoff in the animated film “Dog Man (2025)” an adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s book series, and portrayed Rebecca in the comedy drama “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2025).”

Fisher's television debut was as Vanessa Walker in “Bay City (1993),” a series based in Australia’s west coast and the lives of four children residing there. Later, she went on to appear in shows such as “Wavelength (1998),” "Attila (2001)," “Oliver Twist (1999),” and “Pilot Season (2004).” She also voiced Button, one of the three Wee Sprites in the Disney animated series “Sofia the First (2015).” More recently, she played Carol in “Curb Your Enthusiasm (2020)” and Mary in “Wolf Like Me (2022-2023).”
