Steven Yeun is a South Korean-American actor known for his performances across TV, film, and voice acting. He was born on December 21, 1983, in Seoul, South Korea. He immigrated to Canada with his family at a young age in 1988. He later moved to Michigan, United States, and completed his schooling there. He initially pursued a degree in psychology before pursuing acting. He has been working in Hollywood for over 10 years.


Initially, Yeun gained popularity for his performance in the hit show The Walking Dead (2010–2016). He has received many awards for his work, including 2 Primetime Emmy Awards, 2 Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, etc. He has received international acclaim for his performances in many projects. Over the years, Steven Yeun has worked in both big-budget and independent films. He made his film debut with the film My Name is Jerry in 2009. In his early years, he worked in many short films like The Kari Files (2009), Carpe Millennium (2010), and Blowout Sale (2010). In 2017, he played the role of K in Bong Joon Ho’s film Okja. In 2018, he played the role of Ben in The Burning, a South Korean film that received international praise.


One of his most notable works is Minari (2020), a film about a Korean immigrant family starting a new life in America. His performance earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, making him the 1st Asian American to receive this honor. Apart from that, he has worked in films like The Humans (2021), Nope (2022), Love Me (2024), etc. Recently, he was seen in the film Mickey 17, where he played the role of Berto.

Over the years, Yeun has worked in many popular shows. He gained international popularity for his breakout role in The Walking Dead, where he played the role of Glenn Rhee. He is also a voice actor and has given his voice to many shows like The Legend of Korra (2013), Voltron: Legendary Defender (2016-2018), Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia (2016-2018), Final Space (2018-2021), Tuca & Bertie (2019-2022), Invincible (2021), etc.


In 2023, he joined the cast of the hit show Beef, where he played the role of Danny Cho. He is also an executive producer of the show. He received praise from the audience and critics for his performance in the shows.
