Madeline Brewer is an American actress best known for her roles in TV and film. She was born on May 1, 1992, in Pitman, New Jersey. She is the daughter of actor and musician Laurie and Mark Brewer. Brewer developed an interest in acting from a young age and did many performances in her school. In 2010, she won the title of Miss Pitman. She graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.


She started her acting career in 2013 and has been working in Hollywood for more than 10 years. Brewer made her on-screen debut with a role in Orange is the New Black in 2013 and, since then, has worked in more than 10 films and many hit TV shows. Brewer made her film debut with the film Hedgehog in 2017, where she played the role of Ali. In the same year, she starred in the film Flesh and Blood. In 2018, she gained recognition for her role as Alice Ackerman/Lola in Cam, a psychological horror film about a webcam model whose identity is stolen. She was praised by the critics for her performance in the film. After that, she worked in many films, including Captive State (2019), Hustlers (2019), Where Are You (2019), The Ultimate Playlist of Noise (2021), Separation (2021), Space Oddity (2022), etc.

Brewer made her TV debut in 2013 with the hit show Orange is the New Black, where she played the role of Tricia Miller. She later starred in the show Hemlock Grove (2014–2015), where she played Miranda Cates, a young woman caught in supernatural events. She also worked in an episode of hit show Black Mirror (2016).


Her most notable TV role is as Janine Lindo in The Handmaid’s Tale (2017–present). She gained popularity and received praise from critics for her role. She also received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2021 for her work on the show. She will also be seen in the 5th and final season of the superhit Netflix show You, which is set to be released on April 24, 2025. She will be playing Bronte in the show.
