Moana 2 is the highly anticipated Disney animated film which was released on November 27, 2024. Also known as Vaiana 2 or Oceania 2, the film is the sequel to the 2016-released Moana. The fans of the first film are also awaiting the live-action Moana film which is set to release in 2026.

Speaking of the plot of Moana 2, it's set three years after the first film. Moana, who now often sets out in search of new islands, finds out that she is the chosen one to break the curse on the island of Motufetu and help people connect back with the ocean.

Are Dywane Johnson’s daughters in Moana 2?

Yes, Dwayne Johnson's daughters are also a part of Moana 2. The actor’s daughters Tiana, 6, and Jasmine, 8 have given their voices to the members of Moana's fan club called the "MOANA-BE's,” in Moana 2. As per IMDb, both of Johnson’s daughters earned $1,158 each for their roles in the film.

During his interview with E! News's Will Marfuggi, the Rock spoke about how his daughters were blown away after seeing Moana 2 during its premiere. Johnson said, “They loved it. Loved, loved it. They hadn't seen it before. They knew they were in it, and they were sitting on the edge of their seats, literally, and just waiting. And then their scene came up, and they’re just like, ‘That's me!’ It was so cool.”

“That’s the good stuff of fame,” Dwayne Johnson added, before making a witty remark, “And nepotism.”

Who is HeiHei in Moana 2?

HeiHei is Moana's pet rooster in Moana and Moana 2 and is her sidekick in the film. HeiHei was voiced by Alan Tudyk. In 2016, the American actor was asked how he got cast to voice HeiHei the rooster in Moana during an interview with AVClub, to which he replied, “I don’t even know who to attribute it to. Those in power at Disney, the very generous figures at Disney Animation, have convinced themselves I’m a good-luck charm for their movies, which is great. It’s working out really well for me, and it seems to be a mutually beneficial arrangement.”

“This movie has a very small cast, and this was the role that they offered me. I loved voicing him. It was a very interesting challenge because he’s limited to rooster-y, chicken-type noises, and he goes along on the whole adventure. It just becomes, “If that’s how you express yourself, go for it. You’re now underwater. Now you’re panicked.” You go through the whole emotional gamut this stupid, stupid bird goes through but express yourself only in this very limited way. It’s a blast,” he added.
