She used to work at The New Yorker as a fact-checker until 2012. She has also worked as a writer and her work has also been published in Vogue.

She, along with her husband, Steve Martin, has an interest in art collection. In 2019, they shared their art collection, which includes Aboriginal Australian art, at the Madison Avenue gallery in New York. She has appeared in Steve! (Martin): A Documentary in 2 Pieces (2024). Many people on the internet believe that she looks like Tina Fey. In 2015, during her tribute speech to Steve Martin for receiving the Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute, Tina Fey mentioned that Anne Stringfield looks like her.
