Jamie Ward plays Jesus in the film. He is an Australian actor, known for his work in TV and theater. He was born and brought up in Yokine, Western Australia. Ward graduated from Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, Australia. He started performing in theatre with the Sydney Theatre Company. To pursue acting, he moved to London, England in 2012. He made his debut in the West End theatre in London as Marius in the play Les Misérables in 2013.

Borrelli said, “I was really passionate about the idea of expanding such an important moment of the Eucharist. People go to church all the time, they receive Communion, and they hear those words, ‘This is my body,’ and it’s such an important moment but they don’t have many images to connect [to it]. So I said, ‘I want to expand that.’”
