GH and PC alum Jay Pickett lands Queen Sugar role

General Hospital and Port Charles fans will want to tune in to Queen Sugar, because Jay Pickett (ex-David Harper; ex-Frank Scanlon) has landed a role on the popular OWN series.

Calling all fans who love Jay Pickett! The actor, known in the daytime world as General Hospital's David Harper (and briefly Lorenzo Alcazar), as well as Port Charles' Frank Scanlon, will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Queen Sugar.

The Washington native took to social media with the news and a photo of himself posing with the OWN series' star Kofe Sirboe.

"Back from New Orleans where I had the opportunity to work with the talented Kofe Siriboe on the TV show Queen Sugar," he captioned the photo. "Great guy with an awesome dog!"

Queen Sugar, which just premiered its third season at the end of May, follows sisters Nova Bordelon (Rutina Wesley), a tough journalist and activist from New Orleans, and Charley Bordelon (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), a mother who uproots her life in Los Angeles and moves herself and her teenage son, Micah, to Louisiana to claim an 800-acre sugarcane farm inherited from her recently departed father. The show previously starred GH alum Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky Spencer; Eric Brady, Days of our Lives).

Back in May, Pickett had GH and PC fans excited when he reunited with his former Port Charles cohorts Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin) and Michael Dietz (ex-Joseph Scanlon; ex-Dr. Mark Maclaine, The Bold and the Beautiful) and posted photographic evidence of the get-together.

"Great catching up with two of my best Port Charles pals," he shared.

Since leaving GH in 2008, Pickett has gone on to make appearances in TV shows like The Mentalist, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Rosewood. His most recent credits include the films The Work Wife and A Woman Deceived.
