Gen V Season 2 will stream on Prime Video this Wednesday. Like its parent series, The Boys, the first three episodes of the second season of the spin-off will be released together. The second season of the show, consisting of eight episodes, will stream between this Wednesday and a month later on October 22, 2025.

The upcoming season is set right after the closing minutes of The Boys Season 4 finale. If you remember, the season 4 finale ended with Homelander getting the political power, with President Steven Calhoun being his puppet. Thus, Gen V Season 2 will provide a glimpse into what this universe looks like, now that Homalander has taken over.

Who is in Gen V Season 2?

Everyone from the first season is coming back with one noticeable exception: Chance Perdomo's Andre Anderson. The world was shocked to learn about Chance Perdomo's passing due to an accident. The makers of the series immediately confirmed that Perdomo won't be recast for Gen V Season 2. Thus, the June 2025 teaser did set up a mystery of Andre's absence.

But given the real-world events, it is highly likely that Andre passed away in Vought's custody, where he, Marie, Emma, and Jordan were imprisoned.

Why is season 2 important?

When Gen V premiered back in 2022, it was just a spin-off. The first season revolved heavily around the virus that's in Billy Butcher's possession in The Boys Season 4 finale. But it wasn't necessary that you had to watch Gen V Season 1 to understand The Boys' fourth season. However, it looks like that's not the case this time.

The second season of The Boys' spin-off series looks important. It seems that the upcoming season is a necessary viewing for The Boys Season 5, which is also its final one. Even Eric Kripke alluded to it in the Entertainment Weekly interview published on August 27, 2025:

"There's a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys."

What is the upcoming season about?

As mentioned before, season 2 of Gen V is set after The Boys Season 4, i.e., after Homelander is the most powerful in the US. Thus, it seems that the relationship between humans and the supes is on thin ice, as Homelander is in the center of a brutal fascist regime. Annie January/Starlights gives Marie a mission to investigate Project Odessa, and if possible, thwart it.

"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
