As the pronouncement of the death sentence sends him reeling, Todd vehemently declares his innocence. Meanwhile, Margaret informs Spencer that her baby is on the way. Roxy presses Natalie to reveal which man she's chosen, then is amused to see John walk into Capricorn. Lindsay commends Cristian for his impressive new work but admits she can't sell any of his paintings because the art community believes he defrauded them by faking his death. Flying into a rage, Blair rails at both Hugh and Evangeline before turning her fury on Todd himself. Trying to calm the agitated mother-to-be, Spencer reminds Margaret how they'll "fake" Todd's execution so he can be with his new little family. Natalie offers an olive branch to John. Blair collapses in the courtroom and is rushed to the ER. Upon discovering that Margaret's baby is breached, Spencer realizes he'll need help with the delivery. Choking back tears, Todd asks Bo to check in on Starr and Jack from time to time after he's gone. Spencer forces Paige to accompany him back to the abandoned warehouse, where she's stunned to find the "late" Margaret in labor. Declaring his love, R.J. proposes to Lindsay but she suspects he's only trying to assuage her bruised feelings.

Cristian told Evangeline to take off her clothes. After some clarification, she learned that Cris just wanted her to change clothes, as he was going to be helping her paint, as a sort of occupational therapy. Cris told Evangeline not to talk, not to think, just paint.

John wasn't too keen on going to the Craze party with Natalie at Ultraviolet. He was so uncomfortable at the party he could barely cope. "I don't do this, working so hard to be friends," John said. "It's this or nothing, John. Do you want me out of your life?" Natalie replied. John said he liked being with Natalie because they "just were," and there wasn't a lot of talking. Natalie reminded him that then Statesville and Cristian happened. John wondered why Natalie "kept trying with me." The two went into the party and had a beer at the bar.

Rex threw a party (see above) to celebrate Adriana's debut as Craze's new cover girl. Adriana was quite thrilled, especially when Rex told her she was amazing. David arrived and asked why there weren't more publicists there and then praised Adriana for doing such a great job and looking so gorgeous. Denton lurked outside the party and told David that just because he testified that Todd was guilty didn't necessarily mean that it was true.

Todd asked Dorian to visit him in jail and she agreed. Dorian was practically gleeful when she paid Todd a visit in jail. Dorian gave Todd the update that Blair had been in the ER. Dorian contained to rag on Todd and suggested that Todd do the decent thing and allow himself to be executed. "Do you think you deserve a second chance? Do us all a favor. Just die." Dorian lectured Todd on real love and self-sacrifice. Todd claimed he would do anything for Blair and the kids. Dorian said she'd keep an eye on Spencer and Blair.

John told Bo that Blair was physically fine. "She just hyperventilated." Bo wondered if Blair could use a shrink. Bo was surprised to learn that Paige was not at the hospital and she had gone somewhere with Dr. Truman. Bo questioned John on Paige's whereabouts, but got no details.

Paige asked Spencer, "What in God's name have you done?" "I haven't done anything," he replied, "You have." Paige told Spencer that she was going straight to Bo and tell him everything about Margaret. Not so fast, said the sneaky doctor. The two began to argue and Paige headed out. Spencer said, "Is it worth ruining Bo Buchanan's life?" a remark that stopped Paige in her tracks. Paige countered that Spencer had nothing over her. "I helped a woman in need. You've gone too far." Paige said go ahead, tell the world about the man who's death she was responsible for and who's death David helped her cover up. Spencer reminded her that if that came out she'd spend the rest of her life in jail. Bo called Paige on her cell and she asked that he meet her in his office. Spencer told Paige to read the file on her in the locked cabinet in her office. "Read the file before you go to Bo," Spencer said. "You are a sick, twisted man," Paige said as she left. Paige unlocked the drawer and began frantically searching for the confidential file. She found death certificates which confirmed that the bodies found were Margaret and the fetus. Bo's signature had been forged (by Spencer) which meant that Bo could get in big trouble if these papers ever came out. At that point, Paige realized Spencer had won that round. Bo entered her office and asked Paige what she had wanted to tell him.

Rex demonstrates his new P.I. equipment to Adriana and finally alone at the club after the party, they express their true feelings.

David quizzes Denton about his remark regarding Todd really being innocent but Denton will only talk for payment. He wants David to make him an offer but Vickers is low on cash at present. He talks about evil forces being present even if Todd really didn't commit the crime and David is very curious.

Nash is frantic to locate Tess and denies the fact that he also has feelings for Jessica. He challenges Clint's love for Viki which angers the older man. His situation was definitely not the same as he fell in love with a real person, he yells. They had love, marriage and a family and Niki made life hell for everyone. When a bracelet of Jess' is found, Clint heads out to help search, forcing Nash to stay back with his bad ankle. Later, he returns with news. A cabin with a chimney spewing smoke has been spotted and that's where they are. Unfortunately, there's been a landslide blocking the way so it'll be some time before they can get to the women.

When asked if her problem has something to do with Spencer, Paige responds to Bo that it's about the baby being delivered. Misunderstanding and thinking it's about her own baby, Bo swears that nothing will interfere with them. He knows that Spencer is up to something but Paige stops him from seeking Spencer out. When David shows up shortly after, he suggests that he and Paige come up with a plan to get rid of Spencer's controlling of them once and for all. She thinks they need to handle things individually for now and wants David to leave her alone.

Blair goes home with Spencer. Trying to give her the confidence to tell her children about their father sparks feelings in her. She has all the qualities he wants and is hoping she realizes that the whole world isn't against her, he quietly tells her. She turns to kiss him and it becomes passionate as they lie down on the floor by the roaring fire.

As she's pressed by Tess, Niki finally admits to knowing the secret to her arrival. Jess had some guy after her at the bar, she announces. What else could it be? It's way worse than that, Tess informs her, and she blames Niki for all of it. She should have been more responsible than taking a child to a bar, especially since Jess always begged not to go. Niki is quick to point out that she was doing exactly what she was born to do, which was being independent and free and if anything, she's blaming the wrong person. Viki is the one to blame by letting the alters take over. Niki and Tess were not born to be mothers. She reminds Tess of almost hurting Antonio's daughter in the fire. Tess thinks it's different but she finally knows who to hate. It's Victoria.

John comes to the police station looking for Bo, but finds Natalie first. Their relationship appears to be improving, and she tells him that Cristian has been spending time with Evangeline. At that moment, Bo shows up. Bo and John go into Bo's office, where John asks for his badge back. He offers to talk to Dr. Crosby every week, but Bo can tell John is only willing to go through the motions. He has no intention of truly working on the issues that plague him. Bo says that until he does, he has no place on the force. Minutes later, Matthew arrives at the station with questions for Bo and John about how to help Starr. Both Bo and John share nice moments with Matthew. As John leaves, he tells Natalie that she inspired him to ask Bo where he stands.

Evangeline tries to convince Todd to go for an appeal, but he has no interest in saving his own life. Todd tells her that his staying alive would only make the lives of those he loves worse. Evangeline argues that he never even asked Blair what she wants. Todd recalls that the first word out of Blair's mouth after hearing the verdict was, "Spencer." Evangeline won't be swayed, and tells him that giving up is the same thing as saying, "I'm guilty." Although he is innocent this time, Todd believes that his current situation is "payback" for all the crimes he did get away with.

Paige and David meet at the diner and worry about Spencer. When their conversation becomes about Todd's verdict, David wonders why Paige is having such a personal reaction to the outcome.

Margaret sits in a dark room, rocking Todd Jr. We see the ordeal she has experienced with Todd and Blair through her eyes as she tells the baby a warped fairy-tale version-in which she sites herself as the princess, Todd as prince, Blair as the wicked witch, and Spencer as her fairy godfather. We learn that Spencer orchestrated the night on the lake believing that Todd would kill Margaret. He was taken aback when Margaret told him Todd didn't try to harm her, and she jumped off the boat. Playing on Margaret's fear of going to jail, he convinced her to stay in hiding.

Cristian knocks out one of the coach's trainees while sparring at the gym. The coach notices Cristian's skill, but can't talk to him about it because he runs off to meet Lindsay after she calls with a possible job opportunity. Unfortunately, the job is for a caricature artist for a sweet sixteen party. Natalie witnesses Cristian's ego being hurt in this way, and feels the need to reach out to him the way she did with John. He is surprised when she claims to be fine with his friendship with Evangeline, but resolves to believe she feels this way because she is back on track with John. The boxing coach arrives at the diner and tells Cris he ought to participate in an upcoming amateur match. Natalie, appearing worried, tries to convince him not to take up boxing professionally. Cristian asks her why she even cares.

John sees Dr. Crosby at the boxing gym and accuses him of "stalking." Crosby ends up holding the punching bag for John. While John throws punches at the bag, Crosby tries to get him to talk about his father. John shares a little bit, but grows angry and shuts down quickly.

Bo tells Paige that Todd isn't going to appeal.

Blair falls asleep in Spencer's arms after having sex with him.

Niki persuades Tess to go on the run, but Tess still won't reveal the secret that caused Jessica to split. Niki wants to find out, but mainly because she thinks the realization of what happened to her baby will destroy Viki once and for all.

Antonio, Clint, Nash, and the Ranger are determined to locate the women. Nash almost doesn't tell Antonio that he found Jessica's pin, but Clint persuades him to give it up. Nash's ankle is still sore from when he went out in the snow searching for Tess. Antonio and Nash almost come to blows for the umpteenth time, as Antonio blames Nash for Tess running off. Nash insists yet again that he doesn't love Jessica and only has feelings for Tess. Clint persuades the men to wait it out, as there is absolutely nothing they can do until the roads are cleared. Finally, the Ranger gives them word that the road up to the cabin is cleared, and the men take off. When they arrive, Niki/Viki and Tess/Jess are nowhere to be found. As the men stare at the deserted cabin, Niki and Tess are riding out of town with a truck driver.

Natalie and Cristian have a discussion at the diner, in which she tries to persuade him not to become a boxer. Cris says that he can't pass up that kind of money, but Natalie reminds him that he has to win first. She also expresses her distaste at walking in on Cristian and Evangeline's paint fight. Cris wants to know why she cares. Natalie says that if Evangeline goes after Cris, it's only to make her mad. Cristian takes offense at this comment and wants to know why Natalie can't forgive him like she forgave John. Nat insists that she didn't forgive John, but that she is trying to be more understanding, and that she would like to extend the same courtesy to Cristian. However, she tells him that if he gets together with Evangeline, she will hate it ... she won't try to stop it, but she'll hate it.

Meanwhile, John and Evangeline meet up at the police station as they each wait for a chance to talk with Bo. Evangeline is pleased to hear that John opened up a bit more to Dr. Crosby. When Bo gets freed up, Evangeline enters his office first. She tells him that she wants to start in on Todd's appeal on the grounds that he is being set up, but that Todd won't go through with it. Bo tells her there is nothing that can be done and that he has been ordered to remove Todd to a maximum security facility to await execution. Van races from the office, distraught. John is the next one to talk to Bo, and he asks for his job back. Bo says that although Dr. Crosby is impressed that John is beginning to open up, he is not yet ready to recommend that John be reinstated. However, Crosby has decided that Bo can give John one assignment: to accompany Todd to the maximum security facility. John sees this as grunt work and humiliation, but Bo reminds him that it's a way to prove he's a team player. Upon leaving Bo's office, John runs into Natalie and tells her that he may be getting his job back. She embraces him on the spot, and everyone in the station turns their gaze on the couple. Embarrassed, Natalie apologizes, but John doesn't seem to have minded.

Evangeline has made her way to the diner, where she runs into Cristian. He tells her about his discussion with Natalie, and Van says that she agrees that Cris needs to put his art before his boxing. She also says that she wants ice cream to help take her mind off of Todd's appeal, and Cristian invites her into the back of the diner to whip up her own sundae.

Blair and Spencer wake up in bed together in the aftermath of sex. Blair confesses that she used Spencer to forget about Todd, but Truman doesn't seem to mind. In fact, he says that he's touched that Blair is concerned about his feelings at all. She says that of course she cares, and that she feels awful for using him in this way. Spencer says he doesn't blame her and that he thinks she will get over Todd in time. There is a knock on the door, and it's Paige, fresh from a conversation with Bo in which she pleaded with him to make sure Todd appeals his conviction. Paige is disgusted to see that Blair has spent the night with Spencer and she threatens to tell her everything. Spencer reminds her of the trumped up documents he created that will blame Bo for faking Margaret's death. Paige tells Blair that she has something to tell her, but changes her mind at the last minute. Instead of revealing to Blair that Margaret is alive, she simply fills her in on the news that Todd is not going to appeal his conviction. A distraught Blair takes off for the prison to visit Todd, and an enraged Spencer warns Paige that she needs to keep her mouth shut, or else.

Meanwhile, Margaret has been thinking about Spencer's motivations as she rocks little Todd, Jr. She knows that Spencer is going to fake Todd's execution, but she can't help but wonder why he would care so much about she and Todd being together. Suddenly, she realizes that Spencer must have fallen in love with Blair and doesn't actually give a damn about Todd. When Spencer arrives at the apartment, Margaret demands some specific details on how exactly he is going to fake Todd's death and get him off of death row.

Paige makes a call to the prison and requests a meeting with Todd Manning.
