Hope had walked out on Liam's party because Bill continued to ignore Hope as Liam's girlfriend. Instead, Bill introduced Liam as "the world's most eligible bachelor." Hope regretted her decision. Amber and Liam awakened together at Liam's place the morning after his party. Amber had convinced Liam that they'd had sex, but it was all a ruse. Liam had hit his head and remembered nothing of being with Amber or any of the time after his party. Liam felt guilty and ashamed, and he told Amber that he would tell Hope what had happened. Stephanie purchased Insomnia and put Dayzee in charge of the coffeehouse that she renamed Dayzee's. The entire Forrester family decorated Dayzee's for Christmas and hosted a holiday dinner there for all Dayzee's friends from the mission. Brooke and Katie searched for and found a battered Anthony, Brooke's homeless friend from Skid Row. Brooke took Anthony home to her place, cleaned him up, and gave him Ridge's guitar because Anthony's had been broken. Anthony accompanied Brooke to Dayzee's for the holiday dinner, and he played his music for the crowd. Taylor and Whip attended the holiday gathering, and Stephanie reminded Taylor that they were still best friends. Taylor appreciated Stephanie's sentiments.
After E.J. and Sami learned that Johnny's surgery was a success, E.J. banned Sami from visiting Johnny. Jennifer went undercover as part of Bo's plan to rescue Hope and then found herself trapped in the prison lockdown. Bo and Hope barely made it out of the prison before Warden Jane called for the state police to stage a "shoot to kill" manhunt. Ciara told Julie, Doug, and Jennifer that she wished for a Christmas miracle to bring her mommy and daddy home for the holiday. Doug, Julie, and Jennifer continued the Horton ornament tradition. Bo cautioned Hope that there would be no outside contact while they were on the run from the law. E.J. told Stefano that he wanted Nicole in his life for the sake of Sydney and Johnny. Vivian bought out enough Titan stock to take over the company and the Kiriakis mansion, and to get Victor, Kate, Philip, Nicole, and Brady right where she wanted them. Nicole told Brady that Vivian had pictures of them making love at the DiMera home and feared that she would never see Sydney again if E.J. learned the truth. Carly told Daniel, Chloe, and Melanie that she feared that her relationship with Bo was over. Nathan accepted a job offer in Baltimore, and he and Stephanie planned to leave Salem. Philip and Chloe expressed relief at Nathan's new position and imminent departure, unaware that many other Salem residents knew about their one-night stand.

What happened during the week of
Theo, who had been revealed to be the Balkan, decided to terminate his association with Jerry Jacks by having a sniper shoot Jerry. Siobhan was stunned as she watched Jerry collapse and then fall into the murky waters off of Pier 52. Theo ordered Siobhan to report Jerry's killing to the police, but he gave her specific instructions about what to say. Lulu tried to convince herself that Dante didn't have feelings for Brenda. Dante decided to plan a romantic dinner for Lulu. Luke and Tracy's wedding day arrived. The happy couple made it to the altar after Luke signed the prenuptial agreement. Carly sent Spinelli on a mission to break into the law offices of Garabaldi and Sloan to discover why Dante had hired them in 2007. Carly was delighted when Spinelli discovered that Brenda and Dante had a child together and that Dante had given Brenda full custody. Sonny proposed marriage to Brenda. Lisa was not pleased when she overheard Patrick and Robin make plans for Christmas. Robin invited Patrick to stay at the house, in a guest room, so that they could celebrate the holiday with Emma. Lisa reached out to a mystery person. Jason and Sam went Christmas tree shopping. Michael and Molly helped Jason and Sam to decorate the tree. Maxie tried to break things off with Matt, but Matt refused to walk away from Maxie. Matt insisted that Maxie was the perfect woman for him.

Bo was on the verge of telling Nora about his infidelity with Inez when Clint stepped in to offer Bo some brotherly advice. Clint hinted to Inez that her sons had been seen near Eddie's room around the time of Eddie's murder. Natalie pleaded with Marty not to tell John about the baby's true paternity. Marty insisted that she wanted to start the year off with a clean slate, so she refused to keep Natalie's secret. Natalie argued that she was not responsible for Cole's fate because Cole had confessed to killing Eli. Natalie warned Marty that ruining Natalie's life would have repercussions for Marty, so Marty agreed to keep quiet. John gave Natalie his mother's engagement ring. Todd suspected that Marty had framed him for Eddie's murder. Todd decided to tell Dani about the cufflink in Eddie's room before she heard about it from someone else. Dani believed her father when he told her that he was not responsible for Eddie's death. Nate was arrested for Eddie's murder after a search of Inez and Nate's home yielded a gun. Viki was furious when she realized that Echo had intentionally kept quiet about Rex's accident. Viki's frustration mounted when Charlie revealed that he intended to help Echo through her alcohol recovery. Viki reached out to Dorian for help with Echo. Dorian lured Echo away on Christmas Eve with promises of a fat paycheck. Echo found herself locked out on Dorian's rooftop. Kelly began to wonder about Aubrey's past. A mystery person continued to call Aubrey.

Victor rejected his family's efforts to reach out to him. Heather and Ronan had a romantic Christmas together. Daisy fumed when Daniel stood her up on Christmas. Daniel begged Abby to not give up on their love. Jana continued her scheme to win Kevin back by getting Daisy to turn over the baby to Jana.
