Quinn and Deacon insisted that Hope and Wyatt needed each other to heal, and Liam gave his blessing to Wyatt to do whatever possible to heal. Rick escalated pressure on Eric to sign the absolute power of Forrester over to Rick. Against Carter's legal advice and personal urging, Eric signed it over to Rick for one year. At a meeting, Ridge protested the power transfer, and Caroline thanked Rick for trusting her to be the woman by his side. To Caroline and Eric's shock, Rick revealed that Maya would be by his side, not Caroline.

Chad leaked evidence to the police about Rafe that forced Roman to fire Rafe. Melanie went to visit Gabi in prison to make things right between them. Will learned that Sonny had used all their savings for the new club. Daniel told Paul he would never pitch again. Paul told a shocked Sonny he had never stopped loving him and wanted to get back together. Paige pressed J.J. to tell her why he had broken up with her. J.J. told Paige he had been with someone else. Serena was furious when Eric told her Nicole had searched her room. Daniel broke off his New Year's Eve date with Nicole when he realized Nicole was still hung up on Eric. Serena had harsh words for Nicole. Melanie and Brady shared a passionate kiss to start the new year. Paul and Will had a moment.

What happened during the week of December 29, 2014
Frisco was named the new head of the World Security Bureau. Carly offered Jake a job and place to stay at Metro Court. Jake was jealous when Ric showed up with Elizabeth at Metro Court's New Year's Eve party. Carly felt bad for Jake as he watched Ric and Elizabeth, so Carly kissed Jake. Later, Carly told Jake about her troubled history with Ric. Agent Sloane spent New Year's Eve with Anna when his date, Ivy, decided to attend the party with Nikolas. Duke and Lucy felt an unexpected attraction toward each other when they shared a kiss at midnight. Maxie and Nathan encountered travel snafus as they desperately tried to get back to each other in time to spend New Year's Eve together. Olivia reluctantly kissed Julian when she saw Ned and Alexis share a New Year's Eve kiss. Alexis accused Julian of playing games when she saw Julian and Olivia kiss. Passion flared between Julian and Olivia when they spent time alone in a hotel suite. Sam asked Patrick to spend the night with her, but their plans fell apart when they each received calls that their children needed them. Jordan managed to persuade Julian not to kill her by claiming that she worked for Duke. Duke and Shawn agreed to give Jordan a chance, provided she proved her loyalty.

Adam blackmailed Jack into keeping quiet about his true identity by threatening to expose that Billy had shot him. Nick recognized "Gabriel" as a childhood pal. Paul overheard Nikki admit that she'd been drinking, but she assured him she had her addiction under control. Phyllis suspected that Kelly had siphoned the gas out of her car to keep her from attending the New Year's Eve bash. At the party, Phyllis was stunned to see that she and Kelly were wearing the same dress. Kelly was convinced that Jack was still in love with her. Avery was unnerved to see Joe and Ashley on a date. Posing as Gabriel, Adam initiated a conversation with Chelsea. Billy took an immediate dislike to "Gabriel." Mariah and Kevin kissed on New Year's Eve, and Detective Harding planted a surprise buss on Abby. Courtney was disappointed when Noah remarked there was no wedding in his future. Jill resolved to get Chancellor Industries back from Victor. Lily supported Cane's desire to return to the corporate world. Neil suggested that he and Hilary have a baby, and she pretended to throw away her birth control pills. Neil hid his returning eyesight from his family. Nick and Sharon reached an agreement before entering mediation, but things turned nasty when her lawyer pushed for Sharon to get full custody of Faith, and they prepared to go to trial. Constance died. Sage revealed to Adam that as Gabriel's wife, she was entitled to half of his inheritance.
