At a Glance
Kimberlin made daytime television drama history by successfully crossing over her character from the number one daytime drama The Young and the Restless to The Bold and the Beautiful. The success of the cross-over was due in part to the creativity of the Y&R and B&B writers, as the character of Sheila was presumed to have died in a Y&R fire. Kimberlin was voted "Outstanding Villainess" at the 1992 and 1994 Soap Opera Digest Awards, and was nominated in the same category in 1993, 1995, and 1996. She also received an Emmy Award nomination in 1992 for "Outstanding Supporting Actress."
Born in Hayward, California, Kimberlin was discovered by famed modeling agent Nina Blanchard. It took almost a year of soul searching for Kimberlin to decide if she really wanted to give up her dream of being an architect, before she moved to Los Angeles. The modeling work came quickly, and Kimberlin jetted off to model in Tokyo, Milan and Paris.
Upon her return to the United States, Kimberlin decided to give acting a try. She guest starred in numerous television series, including Matt Houston, T.J. Hooker, and Hawaiian Heat, all the while taking acting classes. Kimberlin soon won a part in the daytime drama Capitol, where she portrayed Danielle Steele. In addition, Kimberlin has had featured roles in the films Who's That Girl, Eye Of The Tiger and 18 Again. Jill Newton, the casting director of The Young and the Restless, remembered Kimberlin from a previous audition and in May of 1990, Kimberlin was called in to read for the role of nurse Sheila Carter.
Kimberlin recently won the Dramatic Actress Award at the Flagstaff International Film Festival for her portrayal of the teacher and counselor to crippled children in the independent production, Moving Mountains. Her latest film project is the one angel on a Dream production of Print Shop, where she plays a drug-addicted mother who tries desperately to keep her child from its father.
When she's not busy being a mom or acting, Kimberlin enjoys golfing, snow skiing, boating, scuba diving or adding the finishing touches on her home. Kimberlin's birthday is June 29. She stands 5'6", and has brown hair and hazel eyes.
