Former AMC and OLTL executive Jeff Kwatinetz to head new ABC drama, Notorious

Jeff Kwatinetz, founder of Prospect Park and the man responsible for reviving All My Children and One Life to Live after ABC axed both soaps, will be co-executive producing the network's upcoming drama Notorious -- despite having been entangled in a lawsuit with the entertainment company.

A very familiar name to ABC soap opera fans came up today at the ABC Upfronts, and it has more than a few heads tilted in surprise.

Jeff Kwatinetz, the former head of Prospect Park and the man known for taking All My Children and One Life to Live to the Internet for one season after they were canceled by ABC, has been announced as a co-executive producer for the network's upcoming new series Notorious.

Though the news that he was connected to the project came out months ago, the announcement that Notorious has been picked up by ABC and that Kwatinetz will serve as executive producer of the series comes as a bit of a shock for daytime fans, considering the exec -- who's now the CEO of the Firm -- has been entangled in a long term lawsuit with the network over OLTL's reboot and the use of the now defunct series' characters on General Hospital.

Despite Kwatinetz' messy history with ABC, the powers that be have obviously decided to trust the New York native with Notorious, which is inspired by the true stories of famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and cable news producer Wendy Walker, who will be serving as co-executive producers alongside Kwatinetz and Michael Engler, Kenny Meiselas, and Josh Barry.

Check out the trailer for the series below then let us know what you think about Kwatinetz working hand in hand with ABC despite the ongoing lawsuit between the exec and the entertainment giant.
