Angelina Jolie was born to well-known parents. Her father, Jon Voight, is an award-winning American actor known for his performances in films like Midnight Cowboy (1969) and Coming Home (1978). He won an Academy Award for his acting and is well-respected in Hollywood. Angelina's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was also an American actress. She only did a few projects, and after marriage, she dedicated most of her life to raising her children. Marcheline and Jon married on December 12, 1971, and got divorced in 1980 because he was cheating on her publicly.

Angelina has spoken openly about her complicated relationship with her father. Her father also made some controversial statements about her but he claims that he still loves her. On July 12, 2008, Angelina gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. The couple named the boy Knox, after Brad Pitt's grandfather. They named the girl Vivienne Marcheline. She was named after Angelina’s mother, who passed away in 2007.
