Tom Holland is a British-American actor and entertainer who made his debut in the movie “The Impossible”, as a child actor back in 2012. The actor received his big break in 2016 when he starred in the movie “Captain America: Civil War” as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.

Tom Holland was born on June 1, 1996, in London, England to parents Dominic and Nicola Holland. The actor has been supported by his parents throughout his career, which has been expressed by the actor during various interviews. Apart from working as a full-time actor, Tom has also worked as a voice actor for the movies Spies in Disguise (2019) and Onward (2020).

During a 2021 interview, with a young YouTuber Jazlyn Guerra, Tom opened up about his struggles, also sharing a few pieces of advice on how to deal with dyslexia.


In the interview, Tom Holland said, “It’s just about taking your time, and giving yourself an appropriate amount of time to do the things you need to do. The better prepared you are, the more you’ll be able to accomplish things that are fantastic.”

When did Tom Holland make his debut as an actor?


Tom Holland was quite fond of acting and dancing when he was young. While initially Tom was seen as a dancer, he started his journey as an actor in a theater play, Billy Elliot: The Musical, which aired in the West End's Victoria Palace Theatre. Tom’s initial role in the musical was as Michael Caffrey, the protagonist's best friend. Later in 2008, Holland along with co-star Tanner Pflueger were promoted to the lead role of Elliot in the musical. His performance in the play got him the role of the child in the movie The Impossible (2012). Holland played a teenager who was trapped with his family in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. It was working with actress Naomi Watts in this movie that made him realize that he wanted to do acting as his full-time job.
