Thomas Stanley Holland, popularly known as Tom Holland is a British actor born on June 1, 1996, in Kingston upon Thames, London. Tom is known for his role as Spiderman / Peter Parker in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). At a very young age, Tom Holland became involved in the performing arts, joining hip-hop dance classes at the age of 9. He also trained in theater, ballet, tap dancing, and acrobatics. As a dancer, he earned a role in Billy Elliot the Musical in London’s West End.


His extensive training in dance and theater helped him build his career, made him versatile, and ultimately contributed to landing his breakthrough role as Spider-Man. Apart from being a popular actor, Tom Holland is loved by his fans for his off-screen personality. He is often described as down-to-earth and humble. Tom Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2016), which created a lot of buzz for him. Audiences were excited to see him take on the role in a full-length feature film. In 2015, Tom Holland signed a six-picture deal with Marvel Studios to play Spider-Man. He was chosen from among 1,500 teenagers worldwide. Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-Man, said Tom was perfect for the role as he matched the exact height and age he had imagined for the character. The directors and producers at the MCU were well aware of Tom Holland’s background in dancing and athletics.
