Pauline Hope Chalamet is a French-American producer and actress. Chalamet made her feature film debut in Judd Apatow's comedy The King of Staten Island (2020). She has starred in The Sex Lives of College Girls, an HBO Max comedy series, since 2021. Chalamet is a co-founder of Gummy Films, a production business founded in 2019. Pauline Chalamet is the older sister of Timothée Chalamet. The siblings have a four-year age gap between them.


The first child of Nicole Flender and Marc Chalamet, Pauline was born in New York City and raised in Hell's Kitchen under the Mitchell-Lama program in Manhattan Plaza, a federally funded artists' building. Nicole Flender, her mother, is a third-generation New Yorker who is half Austrian and half Russian Jewish. Her French father, Marc Chalamet, is from Nîmes and is of a Protestant Christian background.


Chalamet's paternal grandmother, a Canadian from Brantford, Ontario, emigrated to France. She is the niece of Rodman Flender and Amy Lippman, who are husband-and-wife producers and filmmakers, on her mother's side. The movie Pauline at the Beach, directed by Éric Rohmer, inspired her name. According to Chalamet, her family is "very middle-class".



Pauline Chalamet is an American-French actress and producer. Chalamet began her career playing little parts in TV series like Royal Pains and One Life to Live. She has been writing and directing short films since 2016, such as Between Fear and Laughter and Je Suis Mes Actes. She appeared in Hong Kai Lai's Gravats, wrote Agnes et Milane, which was directed by Tristan Tilloloy, and made an appearance in Margot in 2017.


She also appeared in La Ville, a Canadian television pilot. Pauline starred in En Ville and wrote the short story The Group Chat in 2018. In 2019, Chalamet wrote another short, Entre Deux Mondes, which was directed by Myriam Doumenq. She also starred as Marion in Comme des Grands, which was directed by Ania Gauer and Julien Gauthier. Chalamet earned the Best Actress Award at the Los Angeles International Film Festival's IndieXFilmFest section for her performance in the film. She starred in three more short films the following year: Abel Danan's Canines, Lindsey Ryan's Seasick, and Khady N'Diaye's Je Suis la Nouvelle Adjani.
